Quarterback Movement

Cam Newton, PanthersUp
The ankle must be healthy; either that or Newton remembered he was a running quarterback. Either way, he’s back to being a dual threat and a borderline elite fantasy QB.

Carson Palmer, Cardinals Up
Whatever Palmer did to the nerve in his shoulder seemed to work–and he’s still got the talented supporting cast that made him a sleeper entering the season.

Eli Manning, GiantsDown
It was all going so well… and then it went horribly, horribly awry against the Eagles and he lost Victor Cruz for the season.

Teddy Bridgewater, VikingsDown
His elite RB is gone and probably not coming back, his o-line is playing like a turnstile, and he can’t get the ball to his top playmaker. Welcome to the NFL, Teddy!

Running Back Movement

Arian Foster, TexansUp
The smartes move Bill O’Brien has made so far: retooling his running game to fit Foster’s style. If he stays healthy the rest of the way, he may push DeMarco Murray for top honors.

Ben Tate, BrownsUp
Foster’s former understudy has been everything the Browns had hoped for thus far. He may still be a short-term solution, but it doesn’t look as if the Browns are in too big of a hurry to go to their rookie tag-team.

Branden Oliver, ChargersUp
Sure, he’s padded the stat line with some soft matchups. But he’s getting it done, by ground and by air, and he’ll still have a role even if/when Ryan Mathews and/or Donald Brown get healthy.

Antone Smith, FalconsUp
Once, it’s lucky; even twice can be fluky. But when Smith busts a long run every single week, you have to accept he’s a flat-out playmaker.

C.J. Spiller, BillsDown
Played a dozen snaps last week, and that was even with Fred Jackson being banged up. Hard to be a home run hitter when all you get to do is pinch-hit.

Ronnie Hillman, BroncosUp
Exceeded expectations in his first start for Montee Ball, hitting triple digits against a tough Jets run D–and now it sounds like Ball could be out even longer.

Jerrick McKinnon, VikingsUp
Desperate for playmakers, the Vikings have apparently elevated the athletic McKinnon ahead of Matt Asiata. Expect growing pains, but also expect plenty of opportunities.

Storm Johnson, JaguarsUp
Storm wasn’t overly impressive in his first NFL start, but he has a comfort level with former college teammate Blake Bortles and he’ll get the bulk of the touches in Jacksonville.

Wide Reciever Movement

AJ Green, BengalsDown
Sounds like he won’t need surgery, but it doesn’t sound like he’ll be back on the field any time soon–and there’s always the threat of re-injury.

Andre Johnson, TexansUp
Some of those plays he made in prime time Thursday make you wonder why the Texans criminally underuse him.

Odell Beckham Jr., GiantsUp
Was already pushing for targets, and now he’ll take Victor Cruz’s role as the deep threat in the Giants’ passing game.

Keenan Allen, ChargersDown
At some point it becomes less about a series of tough matchups and more about it being a flat-out sophomore slump–and we’ve reached that point.

Mohamed Sanu, BengalsUp
No AJ Green? No Marvin Jones? No problem; Sanu has stepped up in a big way for the Bengals.

Andre Holmes, RaidersUp
Derek Carr has found his go-to guy.

Brandon LaFell, PatriotsUp
He’s a big receiver that Tom Brady has become comfortable with–which means opportunities galore.

Brian Tyms, PatriotsUp
Impressed in the preseason, and has jumped ahead of the other rabble on the Patriots roster to secure an intriguing role in their receiver rotation.

Tight End Movement

Jordan Reed, RedskinsUp
Finally got on the field and started showing flashes of why everyone was so excited about him coming into the season.

Jace Amaro, JetsUp
Rookie tight ends rarely hit it big early, but the Jets don’t have a whole lot else going for them in their passing game–and Geno sure knows where to find him.

Larry Donnell, GiantsDown
Turns out you not only can hope to contain Donnell, you can flat-out stop him. Now it’s time to see how he and the Giants adjust to opposing defenses’ adjustments.

Kicker Movement

Matt Prater, LionsUp
The former Bronco lands on his feet in Detroit; let’s hope he can shake the jinx that has apparently claimed every Lions kicker thus far this season.

Blair Walsh, VikingsDown
No more dome, and the weather is turning nasty in Minnesota. So is their offense.

Team Defense Movement

Detroit LionsUp
Plenty of teeth to this defense, and the schedule–especially post-bye–is favorable.

Tampa Bay BuccaneersDown
Wasn’t Lovie Smith a defensive guy? Not exactly working out for him thus far in Tampa.
