DET @ CHI Rush Catch Pass
QB Matthew Stafford 310,3
WR Jeremy Kerley 4-30
WR Golden Tate 7-90,1
TE Eric Ebron 2-20
PK Matt Prater 2 FG 4 XP

Pregame Notes: Three game winning streak and the Packers folding in Buffalo have the Lions back in a tie for the division. Given the state of the Bears this should either be an easy win or a major trap game and more likely the win. Then it all comes down to what happens in Green Bay for the finale. The timing on getting injured players back could not be better.

QUARTERBACK : Three weeks ago, Matthew Stafford passed for 390 yards and two scores on the visiting Bears and he’s managed those scores in most games. Stafford is well off the pace of seasons past though with only 19 passing touchdowns and just four games with more than 300 yards. Fortunately the Bears are handing out pass yards like Christmas candy.

RUNNING BACK : Reggie Bush is back but all that does is ruin what marginal production Theo Riddick had as a receiver. Bush has not warranted any fantasy start since week three. Joique Bell has been fairly consistent with 100 total yards per week and even scored four times over the last three games. Bell had his best game of the year when the Bears showed up. He ran for 91 yards and two scores and added two catches for 16 yards. Riddick added six catches for 54 yards in that game.

WIDE RECEIVER : Since Calvin Johnson returned, Golden Tate’s stats took a significant step back and he’s scored just once in the last six weeks and not broken 100 yards since week 10. Tate turned in eight catches for 89 yards on the Bears while Megatron ended with 11 receptions for 146 yards and two touchdowns. If anything, the Bears are worse now.

TIGHT END : No fantasy value from the rookie who has just one score on the year. Eric Ebron never gained more than 38 yards in any game. He ended with 23 yards on two catches against the Bears the first time.

MATCH TO THE DEFENSE: The Bears always allow a score if not six. This is the worst defense in the league against passing and only weather can stop Stafford, Bell, Johnson and Tate from repeating their fine showing just three weeks ago. The Bears defense doesn’t seem to be circling the wagons. They are just picking through the wreckage to see if anything can be salvaged for later.

CHI vs DET Rush Catch Pass
QB Jay Cutler
WR Alshon Jeffery 5-60,1
WR Eddie Royal 3-20
WR Marquess Wilson 3-20

Pregame Notes: The Bears never looked worse then they did on Thursday night being embarrassed by the Saints. The defense has struggled to contain passers and Drew Brees had no problems rolling up 375 yards and three scores. The offense came to life a little in the second half but the damage was already fatal. The Bears looked like a team that had not practiced together and didn’t really care to. Reports are that HC Marc Trestman will be fired at the end of the season so the Bears can start over yet again.

QUARTERBACK : Jay Cutler is the subject of intense criticism and that’s not likely to help his playing. He threw for 280 yards and two scores in Detroit and has been worth as much in home games this year though every week has been a new adventure and Cutler was horrible in the first half against the Saints before posting some respectable stats in the second half.

RUNNING BACK : Matt Forte is still turning in good to great stats every week but had a season worst six yards on five carries in Detroit with six catches for 52 yards. Forte has scored nine times in total and the worse he run usually means the more he catches and his season high is already 12 receptions.

WIDE RECEIVER : In week 13, Alshon Jeffery turned in nine catches for 71 yards and two scores. Brandon Marshall ended with only 42 yards on six catches. Jeffery has scored in each of the last five games though his yardage varies greatly. With Marshall out, the Bears turned to Marquess Wilson who caught a touchdown on his three receptions for 16 yards last week. Wilson nearly had another long scoring play.

TIGHT END : Martellus Bennett caught eight passes for109 yards in Detroit this year and with Marshall out last week he added four catches for 36 yards. Bennett had one of his best games of the year in week 13 and is getting more attention now that Marshall is out.

MATCH TO THE DEFENSE: This could be just a replay of week 13. The Lions are very tough against the run and no runner has gained more than 84 yards on them this year. Only six runners have scored on then this season but Forte’s scoring has come in home games more than road efforts. Cutler is a risk to start and that does affect the rest of the team. Forte, Jeffery and Bennett do deserve consideration this week but Wilson is less likely to score this time.
