Injury Analysis

Friday walkthrough: Week 4

Team-by-team review of any key fantasy player and their prospects for playing based on this week’s practice activity and team statements. Only those players listed on the team’s final Injury Report will be addressed unless the situation warrants.

PLEASE NOTE: The NFL releases their final official Injury Report late on Friday (after 4:00pm ET) and teams on the west coast often report their injuries late and are not included.

This week’s key game-time decisions: RB Carlos Hyde (SFO), WR Willie Snead (NOS), WR Michael Crabtree (OAK), WR Doug Baldwin (SEA), TE Benjamin Watson (BAL), TE Jordan Reed (WAS)

ARIZONA
WR John Brown (quad) and WR J.J. Nelson (hamstring) were limited all week in practice but both are expected to play despite neither being 100%. TE Jermaine Gresham (ribs) is still limited in practice but expected to be on the field this weekend.

ATLANTA
WR Julio Jones (back) was limited in practice all week as expected but was not on the team’s final injury report and will play.

BALTIMORE
TE Benjamin Watson (calf) didn’t practice all week and is a likely game-time decision. Backup TE Maxx Williams (ankle) has been ruled out again this week.

BUFFALO
No injuries of fantasy note.

CAROLINA
QB Cam Newton (right shoulder) took it easy in practice all week and WR Kelvin Benjamin (knee) was rested in Wednesday’s practice. Both, however, were not on the team’s final injury report and are good to go Sunday. WR Curtis Samuel (back) on the other hand is out this week.

CHICAGO – Played Thursday Night
No injuries of fantasy note.

CINCINNATI
WR John Ross (knee) and TE Tyler Eifert (back) didn’t practice all week again and neither will play Sunday. RB Giovani Bernard (thigh), WR Cody Core (ribs) and WR Brandon LaFell (knee) were all limited somewhat in practice this week but none made the team’s final injury report and they are expected to play.

CLEVELAND
RB Isaiah Crowell (shoulder) and RB Duke Johnson (shoulder) got some rest this week but neither were on the team’s final injury report. The same goes for WR Kenny Britt (knee) who sat out practice early in the week. WR Sammie Coates (hamstring) was unable to practice all week and is not expected to play.

DALLAS
No injuries of fantasy note.

DENVER
QB Paxton Lynch (right shoulder) is not practicing and expected to miss at least two more weeks.

DETROIT
RB Dwayne Washington (quad) sat out practice again all week and is out. WR Kenny Golladay (hamstring) is listed as questionable, but after barely practicing this week he’s not likely to play.

GREEN BAY – Played Thursday Night
No injuries of fantasy note.

HOUSTON
WR DeAndre Hopkins (knee) was limited in practice early in the week but went full on Friday and was not listed on the team’s final injury report.

INDIANAPOLIS
QB Andrew Luck (right shoulder) remains sidelined and out for Week 4. Rookie RB Marlon Mack (shoulder) is also out this week.

JACKSONVILLE
No injuries of fantasy note.

KANSAS CITY – Monday Night
Placed PK Cairo Santos on injured reserve this week and signed PK Harrison Butker from the Panthers’ practice squad.

LOS ANGELES CHARGERS
After a setback last week RB Melvin Gordon (knee) was rested heavily early this week but got a full practice in Friday and is on track to play this weekend. Rookie WR Mike Williams (back) got in another limited week of practice but is still not ready to make his NFL debut. He’s out again Sunday.

LOS ANGELES RAMS
Both WR Tavon Austin (concussion) and WR Sammy Watkins (concussion) got in some practice this week and have cleared concussion protocol. They are expected to be good to go Sunday.

MIAMI
RB Jay Ajayi (knee) rested on Wednesday but returned to full practice for the remainder of the week and is expected to play. WR Kenny Stills (hand) was limited this week but went full on Friday and should be good to go.

MINNESOTA
QB Sam Bradford (knee) didn’t hit the practice field at all this week and is out again.

NEW ENGLAND
WR Danny Amendola (knee) and WR Phillip Dorsett (knee) saw limited practice time this week but neither made the team’s final injury report. Both should play.

NEW ORLEANS
WR Willie Snead (hamstring) was a late addition to the injury report after a limited practice on Friday. Late week injuries are rarely a good thing so look for Snead to be a game-time decision.

NEW YORK GIANTS
Despite not practicing Wednesday and Thursday RB Shane Vereen (calf) was not on the team’s final injury report and should play this weekend.

NEW YORK JETS
RB Matt Forte (knee, toe) didn’t practice all week and is out. TE Jordan Leggett (knee) is still nursing a bad knee and is out again this week.

OAKLAND
WR Amari Cooper (knee) rested Wednesday but practiced fully the rest of the week and was removed from the team’s final injury report. WR Michael Crabtree (chest) didn’t get in much work this week and is a game-time decision.

PHILADELPHIA
No injuries of fantasy note.

PITTSBURGH
WR Martavis Bryant (illness) sat out practice most of the week but got in a full workout Friday and is expected to be ready for action Sunday.

SAN FRANCISCO
RB Carlos Hyde (hip) was limited in practice all week and is a game-time decision.

SEATTLE
RB C.J. Prosise (ankle) didn’t practice all week and is not likely to play. WR Doug Baldwin (groin) got in a single limited practice on Friday and is a game-time decision. TE Jimmy Graham (ankle) was limited all week but removed from the team’s final injury report and expected to play.

TAMPA BAY
No injuries of fantasy note.

TENNESSEE
WR Corey Davis (hamstring) has been ruled out again for Week 4.

WASHINGTON – Monday Night
RB Rob Kelley (rib) has been limited this week in practice but should be ready to play Monday night. TE Jordan Reed (rib, sternum) also put in a limited practice week and is likely a game-time decision again this week.
