Huddle Up: Wentz threw 607 times in 2016, which was a Philly rookie record, but general soreness seems to be the issue here. Wentz has an upgraded cast of weapons and is on track for a strong 2017 fantasy season with QB1 considerations.

Huddle Up: Wentz was a pleasant surprise for the most part in his first professional football season. Unfortunately, his touchdown to interception ratio left something to be desired (8:7). Improved footwork will help, but Wentz remains a backup fantasy quarterback in his second NFL season.

Huddle Up: Wentz had an uneven rookie year, but he showed signs of becoming a reliable starter. He is worth grabbing as a QB2 in 2017, especially after the Eagles upgraded the receiving corps in the offseason.

Huddle Up: While it is true he was forced to throw more often than he ever did in college as Philadelphia's season began to unravel, the No. 2 overall pick's delivery started rivaling that of Blake Bortles and Byron Leftwich by the time the season was ending. As long as the Eagles address their receiver woes and Wentz cleans up his mechanics, he should be a solid QB2 in 2017.

Huddle Up: Wentz was solid as a rookie, completing 62.4 percent of his passes, 3,782 passing yards, 16 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. He has upside for improvement as a high-end QB2 in fantasy.

Huddle Up: Wentz showed promise in his rookie campaign, and he is a QB2 with upside heading into 2017.
Posted: 2/3/2017 9:15pm ET
Huddle Up: Wentz closed his rookie year on a high note, and while he can't be expected to reach QB1 status yet, he is one of the more intriguing prospect in keeper formats and a QB2 in redraft leagues.
Posted: 1/24/2017 9:00pm ET
Huddle Up: This is notable because Dedeaux has worked with several big-name quarterbacks over the years, such as Tom Brady and Drew Brees to name a couple, and also played a role in Matt Ryan's remarkable MVP-type resurgence this year after working with him over six weeks this past summer. Wentz had an encouraging rookie campaign, and this connection figures to only accelerate his development in year two.

Huddle Up: Wentz had an up-and-down rookie campaign, but he showed promise. He will be a QB2 in redraft leagues in 2017 with added value in keeper formats.
Posted: 1/1/2017 1:44pm ET
Huddle Up: Now that Doug Pederson is returning for another year, Wentz will have someone in his corner for the time being. Wentz started strong, faded down the stretch, but finished with a decent outing. He should be a decent QB2 option going into the offseason.
Posted: 12/22/2016 8:02pm ET
Huddle Up: Wentz avoided a serious injury, and he should remain a decent QB2 as long as he is healthy.
Posted: 12/4/2016 8:32pm ET
Huddle Up: Wentz has three 300-yard performances this season, but it was his first in a month. The interceptions were also a single-game high for him, as the rookie has been much less efficient than his first four games.
Posted: 11/28/2016 8:50pm ET
Huddle Up: Wentz started out hot but he has since hit that rookie wall. He has just four touchdown passes and seven interceptions over his past seven games. He is only worth rostering as a QB2 in leagues which require a pair of signal callers.
Posted: 11/26/2016 5:58pm ET
Huddle Up: It has been a rough stretch for the rookie, but he has sleeper appeal against a porous Green Bay secondary in Week 12.
Posted: 11/20/2016 10:25pm ET
Huddle Up: Wentz struggled with accuracy against a top-notch pass defense, and that was to be expected. He should rebound rather nicely and is a sleeper fantasy play against the beleaguered Green Bay pass defense in Week 12 on Monday night.
Posted: 11/13/2016 5:02pm ET
Huddle Up: Wentz has managed just two touchdowns with four interceptions over the past five games while throwing for 231 yards or less in four of the five outings. He appeared to be on the verge of stardom and fantasy usefulness earlier in the season, but right now he is nothing more than a QB2 in most formats.

Huddle Up: Outside of dynasty leagues, you might see what you can get for Wentz on the trade market. It sounds like the team is prepared to fall out of the race and want to protect their rookie.
Posted: 11/6/2016 4:21pm ET
Huddle Up: There will be better days for the first-year field general. He remains more of a bye-week replacement in standard fantasy leagues and QB2 in formats using two starting signal callers.
Posted: 10/16/2016 1:11pm ET
Huddle Up: Wentz has proven he's human in the past couple games following a red-hot start. Washington's defense is pretty decent, however, so chalk this up as a game in unfriendly territory. Wentz remains a decent QB2 who could be a QB1 against weaker opponents.
Posted: 10/9/2016 5:26pm ET
Huddle Up: Wentz has at least one TD in each of his four games, and two touchdown strikes in three of his four outings. He isn't quite to the level of must-start status in fantasy leagues, but he has emerged as a solid bye-week replacement and alternative fantasy option when your primary player has a tough matchup.
Posted: 9/23/2016 11:29am ET
Huddle Up: This is one reason Wentz has looked so polished in the early going of his rookie campaign. Overall, the 2016 No. 2 overall draft pick has thrown for 468 yards while completing 60.6 percent (43-of-71) of his passes, with three touchdowns compared to zero interceptions. Considering the weapons he has at his disposal, he just may have potential in becoming a legit QB1 by year's end.
Posted: 9/19/2016 9:41pm ET
Huddle Up: Wentz improved to 2-0, but his stats are rather pedestrian so far from a fantasy perspective. He remains more of a QB2 in most redraft formats. However, in long-term dynasty leagues he is an absolute stud with a high ceiling.
Posted: 9/9/2016 6:17pm ET
Huddle Up: The speed of Wentz's release is open for debate, but there is no question the rookie is a risky option in all formats as he prepares for his first NFL start.
Posted: 9/5/2016 8:36am ET
Huddle Up: The Eagles have some holes, but there is a bit of talent sprinkled around on offense. It's not a formidable situation, though, and Wentz is little more than a second option in two-QB leagues.
Posted: 9/3/2016 10:07am ET
Huddle Up: Prior to the trade of Sam Bradford to the Minnesota Vikings Saturday, Sept. 3, Wentz appeared poised to begin the 2016 season as the Eagles' No. 3 quarterback and was only worth drafting in dynasty and keeper formats. However, he now merits consideration as a viable late-round option in all seasonal leagues, even though he played in just one preseason game prior to getting injured.
Posted: 8/16/2016 10:36pm ET
Huddle Up: As expected after the second-overall pick was hurt in 12-of-24, 89-yard, one-interception debut against the Bucs.
Posted: 8/13/2016 4:12pm ET
Huddle Up: Wentz got knocked around on Saturday night and paid the price. The Eagles don't have a timetable for his return but the hope is he'll be back before the final preseason game. The lack of reps will obviously hinder Wentz's development. Sam Bradford is locked in as the Eagles starter for the foreseeable future. Wentz isn't a threat to be under center until later in the season.
Posted: 8/12/2016 12:16pm ET
Huddle Up: Wentz is only a dynasty league option in fantasy for now. He could become a waiver claim if things go south in Philly.
Posted: 8/12/2016 8:43am ET
Huddle Up: Dink and dunking his way, the rookie proved he isn't quite ready yet. Wentz is worth stashing is keeper leagues, and you can leave him on the waiver wire in other formats.
Posted: 7/25/2016 8:42am ET
Huddle Up: The Eagles know what they have in Sam Bradford and need to find out what they have in Wentz. Preseason playing time doesn't necessarily mean Wentz will hang on to the job once the games start to count, but if he's impressive enough in the exhibition season he could force Philly to expedite their timetable.
Posted: 7/17/2016 8:57pm ET
Huddle Up: While the Eagles paid a steep price to move up to the No. 2 overall pick and select Wentz, he's still facing a steep learning curve making the leap from FCS to the NFC East. If you're drafting a Philly QB now, it's Sam Bradford -- as unappealing as it may seem.
Posted: 6/26/2016 8:23pm ET
Huddle Up: Wentz is facing a huge jump going from the FCS to the league's No. 2 overall draft pick, but if the competition is close, look for Wentz to get the benefit of the doubt given the price the Eagles paid to move up in the draft.
Posted: 5/31/2016 1:30pm ET
Huddle Up: Perhaps Bradford's concerns about playing time will be realized sooner rather than later. Keep an eye on this situation as Wentz is the prized first draft choice of the Pederson regime while the holdover Bradford hasn't exactly got himself started on the right foot.
Posted: 5/12/2016 3:38pm ET
Huddle Up: The second-overall pick has signed early, allowing himself to hit the ground running and challenge for the starting gig. It will be an intriguing summer in Philly.
