Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz will report to training camp Monday, July 24, when rookies and selected veterans are scheduled to report.

Huddle Up: Wentz started strong in his rookie season but had problems during the second half of the season. He finished with 3,782 yards, 16 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. The Eagles added a few new receivers for Wentz to work with during the offseason, which should help his passing numbers. Owners can consider Wentz as a No. 2 quarterback in leagues.

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz 'appeared to hit his stride' during the team's three-day minicamp, throwing crisper and more accurate passes than he did at the beginning. 'It's coming. I would say that obviously he's been working extremely hard at everything we've done. He?s really understanding our offense and our scheme ? making good choices and decisions with the ball. He's been sharp. It's exciting to watch him,' head coach Doug Pederson said.

Huddle Up: The reports on Wentz and his improved mechanics have been positive thus far, although he was probably a sure bet anyway to build on a promising rookie year following the additions of Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith at receiver. Last year's No. 2 overall pick should be solid QB2 in fantasy most weeks who should occasionally flirt with QB1 numbers in good matchups.

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz is noticeably stronger and appears to be throwing the ball better than he did as a rookie, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane.

Huddle Up: It would have been a surprise if this wasn't the case, but it is still good to hear nonetheless. The Eagles overhauled their receiver corps in the offseason and that alone should give Wentz to occasionally flirt with QB1 value, even though he'll likely settle in as a midrange QB2.

  • Posted: 4/27/2017 11:50am ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (eyes) underwent laser eye surgery this offseason.

Huddle Up: Wentz has a nice receiving tandem to look to this year in Alshon Jeffery and Jordan Matthews. He conducted a promising rookie campaign last year, although he only threw two more touchdowns than interceptions (16 and 14). The future is bright, but Wentz remains out of the QB1 conversation heading into his sophomore season.

  • Posted: 4/18/2017 10:56am ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz's elbow wasn't a problem during his rookie season, dispelling reports suggesting he dealt with soreness, he said during a Monday, April 17, press conference at the Eagles' NovaCare Complex.

Huddle Up: Wentz threw 607 times in 2016, which was a Philly rookie record, but general soreness seems to be the issue here. Wentz has an upgraded cast of weapons and is on track for a strong 2017 fantasy season with QB1 considerations.

  • Posted: 4/17/2017 11:30am ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz said his focus this offseason has been on his footwork.

Huddle Up: Wentz was a pleasant surprise for the most part in his first professional football season. Unfortunately, his touchdown to interception ratio left something to be desired (8:7). Improved footwork will help, but Wentz remains a backup fantasy quarterback in his second NFL season.

  • Posted: 4/1/2017 6:43pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz was named by three personnel executives as the quarterback from the last two drafts that they would pick to build around, and one NFL coach said the Eagles can win a Super Bowl with Wentz under center.

Huddle Up: Wentz had an uneven rookie year, but he showed signs of becoming a reliable starter. He is worth grabbing as a QB2 in 2017, especially after the Eagles upgraded the receiving corps in the offseason.

  • Posted: 3/1/2017 7:15pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz experienced soreness in his right elbow last season - a problem the team believes was related to his throwing mechanics, according to a source.

Huddle Up: While it is true he was forced to throw more often than he ever did in college as Philadelphia's season began to unravel, the No. 2 overall pick's delivery started rivaling that of Blake Bortles and Byron Leftwich by the time the season was ending. As long as the Eagles address their receiver woes and Wentz cleans up his mechanics, he should be a solid QB2 in 2017.

  • Posted: 2/28/2017 7:05am ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz is an attractive chip for luring free-agent receivers, according to several insiders.

Huddle Up: Wentz was solid as a rookie, completing 62.4 percent of his passes, 3,782 passing yards, 16 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. He has upside for improvement as a high-end QB2 in fantasy.

  • Posted: 2/25/2017 7:17pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz worked out with California WR Chad Hansen and Eastern Washington WR Cooper Kupp.

Huddle Up: Wentz showed promise in his rookie campaign, and he is a QB2 with upside heading into 2017.

  • Posted: 2/3/2017 9:15pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz said he is 'excited' to have quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo back in 2017 and expects the continuity to lead to more growth.

Huddle Up: Wentz closed his rookie year on a high note, and while he can't be expected to reach QB1 status yet, he is one of the more intriguing prospect in keeper formats and a QB2 in redraft leagues.

  • Posted: 1/24/2017 9:00pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz will train with quarterback guru Adam Dedeaux this offseason, according to his agent Ryan Tollner.

Huddle Up: This is notable because Dedeaux has worked with several big-name quarterbacks over the years, such as Tom Brady and Drew Brees to name a couple, and also played a role in Matt Ryan's remarkable MVP-type resurgence this year after working with him over six weeks this past summer. Wentz had an encouraging rookie campaign, and this connection figures to only accelerate his development in year two.

  • Posted: 1/15/2017 6:54pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz said he is going to take some time off to rest his body, especially his arm, before working to improve his throwing mechanics. Wentz said his offseason training program could include sessions with quarterback guru Tom House.

Huddle Up: Wentz had an up-and-down rookie campaign, but he showed promise. He will be a QB2 in redraft leagues in 2017 with added value in keeper formats.

  • Posted: 1/1/2017 1:44pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz threw for 245 yards and two touchdowns Sunday, Jan. 1, in a 27-13 win over the Dallas Cowboys.

Huddle Up: Now that Doug Pederson is returning for another year, Wentz will have someone in his corner for the time being. Wentz started strong, faded down the stretch, but finished with a decent outing. He should be a decent QB2 option going into the offseason.

  • Posted: 12/22/2016 8:02pm ET

Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (concussion) cleared concussion protocol and returned against the New York Giants Thursday, Dec. 22.

Huddle Up: Wentz avoided a serious injury, and he should remain a decent QB2 as long as he is healthy.

  • Posted: 12/4/2016 8:32pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Carson Wentz completed 36 of his 60 pass attempts for 308 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions in the Week 13 game against the Cincinnati Bengals. He also rushed three times for 16 yards. Wentz is the first Eagles quarterback since Mike McMahon in 2005 with a passer rating under 65 four times in one season.

Huddle Up: Wentz has three 300-yard performances this season, but it was his first in a month. The interceptions were also a single-game high for him, as the rookie has been much less efficient than his first four games.

  • Posted: 11/28/2016 8:50pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz completed 24 of his 36 pass attempts for 254 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in the Week 12 game against the Green Bay Packers Monday, Nov. 28. He was able to notch his first-career rushing touchdown, finishing with 33 yards on four runs.

Huddle Up: Wentz started out hot but he has since hit that rookie wall. He has just four touchdown passes and seven interceptions over his past seven games. He is only worth rostering as a QB2 in leagues which require a pair of signal callers.

  • Posted: 11/26/2016 5:58pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz has to play better, retired RB Brian Westbrook said. 'It starts at the top and works its way down to our 'Golden Child' quarterback Carson Wentz,' Westbrook said. 'Let's call a spade a spade.'

Huddle Up: It has been a rough stretch for the rookie, but he has sleeper appeal against a porous Green Bay secondary in Week 12.

  • Posted: 11/20/2016 10:25pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles rookie QB Carson Wentz completed 23 of his 45 pass attempts for 218 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in the Week 11 game against the Seattle Seahawks. He also rushed once for two yards and he was sacked twice.

Huddle Up: Wentz struggled with accuracy against a top-notch pass defense, and that was to be expected. He should rebound rather nicely and is a sleeper fantasy play against the beleaguered Green Bay pass defense in Week 12 on Monday night.

  • Posted: 11/13/2016 5:02pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles rookie QB Carson Wentz completed 25 of his 36 pass attempts for 231 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 10 game against the Atlanta Falcons. He rushed four times for 10 yards.

Huddle Up: Wentz has managed just two touchdowns with four interceptions over the past five games while throwing for 231 yards or less in four of the five outings. He appeared to be on the verge of stardom and fantasy usefulness earlier in the season, but right now he is nothing more than a QB2 in most formats.

  • Posted: 11/9/2016 8:37am ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz has been advised to throw less often in the second half of the season by head coach Doug Pederson. 'You don't necessarily want to drop him back that many times,' Pederson said.

Huddle Up: Outside of dynasty leagues, you might see what you can get for Wentz on the trade market. It sounds like the team is prepared to fall out of the race and want to protect their rookie.

  • Posted: 11/6/2016 4:21pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles rookie QB Carson Wentz completed 27 of his 47 pass attempts for 364 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions in the Week 9 game against the New York Giants.

Huddle Up: There will be better days for the first-year field general. He remains more of a bye-week replacement in standard fantasy leagues and QB2 in formats using two starting signal callers.

  • Posted: 10/16/2016 1:11pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles WR Carson Wentz completed half his passes Sunday, Oct. 16, against the Washington Redskins. Wentz threw 11-for-22 for 179 yards and no touchdowns in a 27-20 loss.

Huddle Up: Wentz has proven he's human in the past couple games following a red-hot start. Washington's defense is pretty decent, however, so chalk this up as a game in unfriendly territory. Wentz remains a decent QB2 who could be a QB1 against weaker opponents.

  • Posted: 10/9/2016 5:26pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz completed 25 of his 33 pass attempts for 238 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in the Week 5 game against the Detroit Lions. He also ran twice for 14 yards.

Huddle Up: Wentz has at least one TD in each of his four games, and two touchdown strikes in three of his four outings. He isn't quite to the level of must-start status in fantasy leagues, but he has emerged as a solid bye-week replacement and alternative fantasy option when your primary player has a tough matchup.

  • Posted: 9/23/2016 11:29am ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz has completed 80 percent (12-of-15) of his passes against the blitz this season, which leads the NFL.

Huddle Up: This is one reason Wentz has looked so polished in the early going of his rookie campaign. Overall, the 2016 No. 2 overall draft pick has thrown for 468 yards while completing 60.6 percent (43-of-71) of his passes, with three touchdowns compared to zero interceptions. Considering the weapons he has at his disposal, he just may have potential in becoming a legit QB1 by year's end.

  • Posted: 9/19/2016 9:41pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz completed 21 of his 34 pass attempts for 190 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in the Week 2 game against the Chicago Bears Monday, Sept. 19. He also ran six times for 10 yards.

Huddle Up: Wentz improved to 2-0, but his stats are rather pedestrian so far from a fantasy perspective. He remains more of a QB2 in most redraft formats. However, in long-term dynasty leagues he is an absolute stud with a high ceiling.

  • Posted: 9/9/2016 6:17pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz has a slow release, according to Cleveland Browns DE Carl Nassib, and Nassib said the Browns plan to take advantage of Wentz's release in their Week 1 matchup.

Huddle Up: The speed of Wentz's release is open for debate, but there is no question the rookie is a risky option in all formats as he prepares for his first NFL start.

  • Posted: 9/5/2016 8:36am ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (ribs) is healthy and will start Week 1, according to head coach Doug Pederson.

Huddle Up: The Eagles have some holes, but there is a bit of talent sprinkled around on offense. It's not a formidable situation, though, and Wentz is little more than a second option in two-QB leagues.

  • Posted: 9/3/2016 10:07am ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (ribs) could start Week 1's game against the Cleveland Browns if he has recovered sufficiently from his rib injuries, according to multiple sources.

Huddle Up: Prior to the trade of Sam Bradford to the Minnesota Vikings Saturday, Sept. 3, Wentz appeared poised to begin the 2016 season as the Eagles' No. 3 quarterback and was only worth drafting in dynasty and keeper formats. However, he now merits consideration as a viable late-round option in all seasonal leagues, even though he played in just one preseason game prior to getting injured.

  • Posted: 8/16/2016 10:36pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (rib) will travel for the preseason game Thursday, Aug. 18, against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he will not play in the game. 'The reason why is he's a quarterback and I want him involved in every single meeting, so we don't stunt his growth,' head coach Doug Pederson said Tuesday, Aug. 16. 'I want to continue that whole process with him. And (with) his injury, it's a rib injury. (With) guys that have hamstrings and quads, it's a little bit different.'

Huddle Up: As expected after the second-overall pick was hurt in 12-of-24, 89-yard, one-interception debut against the Bucs.

  • Posted: 8/13/2016 4:12pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (ribs) has a hairline rib fracture. The Eagles hope to have him back before the preseason concludes.

Huddle Up: Wentz got knocked around on Saturday night and paid the price. The Eagles don't have a timetable for his return but the hope is he'll be back before the final preseason game. The lack of reps will obviously hinder Wentz's development. Sam Bradford is locked in as the Eagles starter for the foreseeable future. Wentz isn't a threat to be under center until later in the season.

  • Posted: 8/12/2016 12:16pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz has displayed excellent arm strength, good mobility and a high football IQ so far, but the team is committed to him opening the season as the No. 3.

Huddle Up: Wentz is only a dynasty league option in fantasy for now. He could become a waiver claim if things go south in Philly.

  • Posted: 8/12/2016 8:43am ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz completed 12 of his 24 passes for 89 yards and an interception in the preseason opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Thursday, Aug. 11.

Huddle Up: Dink and dunking his way, the rookie proved he isn't quite ready yet. Wentz is worth stashing is keeper leagues, and you can leave him on the waiver wire in other formats.

  • Posted: 7/25/2016 8:42am ET

Philadelphia Eagles rookie QB Carson Wentz is expected to see 'a ton' of work in the preseason, according to PhillyVoice writer Jimmy Kempski.

Huddle Up: The Eagles know what they have in Sam Bradford and need to find out what they have in Wentz. Preseason playing time doesn't necessarily mean Wentz will hang on to the job once the games start to count, but if he's impressive enough in the exhibition season he could force Philly to expedite their timetable.
