Seattle Seahawks TE Nick Vannett posted three receptions for 43 yards on four targets in Week 5 against the Los Angeles Rams.

Huddle Up: Vannett is it in Seattle among the tight ends, as his biggest competition, Will Dissly, went down with a knee injury a couple of weeks ago. Still, he is only worth a look as a low-end TE2 in deeper fantasy leagues heading into Week 6 against the Raiders in London.

Seattle Seahawks TEs Will Dissly and Nick Vannett are on pace for a combined 80 receptions, 1,130 yards and 13 touchdowns, and they could add to their season totals against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 4, a team which plays a lot of nickel defense.

Huddle Up: Beat writer Bob Condotta mentions that the two tight ends could find favorable matchups to exploit underneath. Vannett has posted eight receptions already this season after posting 15 over his first two years in the league. Still, he is a risky fantasy play. Dissly has actually been the better option to date, picking up seven grabs for 151 yards and two scores. But even he is just a TE2 at best.

Seattle Seahawks TE Nick Vannett is pain-free after battling a herniated disk in his low back during his first two seasons. He said Monday, Aug. 13, that this is the best he has felt in years, and that's good news since he is listed as the No. 1 tight end on the team's depth chart. Offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer is using the tight end in its traditional role, so he'll do plenty of run blocking and pass catching. 'In the pass game, you know, there are a lot of plays where we are the No. 1 read. They are really trusting us to make big play, in the pass game, in the run game, pass protection,' Vannett said.

Huddle Up: Vannett will still have to contend with Ed Dickson, the team's free-agent signing, at some point. So far Dickson hasn't practice due to a quadriceps injury, and Will Dissly, who is considered more of a blocking tight end. Things are working in Vannett's favor, as he could have a breakout season. However, he is only worth a look as a low-end TE2 in the deepest of fantasy formats right now.
