Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy expects to maintain a large role in the offense in his age-31 season in 2019. 'I'm a type of guy, I thrive off of having a big name. So when guys come to my team, they're curious to see, 'How is LeSean McCoy? Is he still a good player?' I mean, I'm a dominant player. I think that speaks for itself. But I'll be in the same role as last year. And I look forward to putting some numbers up and bouncing back from that last season,' McCoy said Tuesday, June 12.

Huddle Up: McCoy totaled just 752 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns last season. Both numbers were career worsts as he played in 14 games but made just 13 starts. He remains No. 1 on the Bills' depth chart, but he'll be competing against veteran RB Frank Gore and third-round rookie Devin Singletary. He's fallen into RB4 territory but could prove to be a steal at a mid-round price.

  • Posted: 4/26/2019 10:01pm ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy is still the team's starting running back, according to comments made by GM Brandon Beane following the third-round selection of RB RB Devin Singletary. Beane lauded Singletary's instincts and vision, and did mention age at the position, a reference to McCoy, who turns 31 during the offseason.

Huddle Up: It's commonplace for GMs to back their current starter, but you have to believe the Bills are gonna take a long look at McCoy in the wake of this selection given his age, mileage and cap figure. If he remains the starter in Buffalo, McCoy could hold RB3 value.

  • Posted: 1/23/2019 12:00pm ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy believes he and the Bills will bounce back after a personally and collectively trying season. McCoy had his worst season as a professional football player, he was the subject of accusation in an alleged domestic incident and he was benched in Week 16.

Huddle Up: What's more is that McCoy will turn 31 years old this offseason and is over the hill in running back years. He should still be the main guy in Buffalo's backfield, but he is far from being the RB1 conversation.

  • Posted: 12/31/2018 12:51pm ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy will return to the Bills for the final year of his contract in 2019, according to general manager Brandon Beane.

Huddle Up: McCoy is coming off the worst year of his career and will be turning 31 years old this offseason. The talent and playmaking ability are still there, though. Combined with his past success, it will be difficult to pass on him as a PPR RB2 in 2019 fantasy drafts.

  • Posted: 12/30/2018 1:57pm ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy ran 10 times for 26 yards and a touchdown in Week 17 against the Miami Dolphins and he added two grabs for 18 yards.

Huddle Up: Shady ended up with 514 rushing yards and three touchdowns across 14 games and he had 34 grabs for 238 yards and no scores. McCoy was a perennial first-round fantasy pick for many years, but at 30 he is on the downside of his career and should be treated as a RB3 or flex fantasy player heading into 2019.

  • Posted: 12/27/2018 7:24pm ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy is viewed as an important piece of the offense for 2019, according to head coach Sean McDermott, and McDermott said he feels McCoy has 'bought in' with the Bills for next season.

Huddle Up: McCoy is finishing up the worst year of his career, and while injuries have played a part, age isn't on his side. After entering this season as a borderline RB1, McCoy's stock has plummeted. He will likely be a flex option, at best, in 2019.

  • Posted: 12/23/2018 2:14pm ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy rushed for nine yards on six carries against the New England Patriots in Week 16. He also caught three passes for 10 yards during the game.

Huddle Up: McCoy was returning from an injury but was not able to do much against the Patriots. He should have more success next week but may only be flex option in fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 12/21/2018 10:44am ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) is 'ready to go' in Week 16, head coach Sean McDermott said Friday, Dec. 21.

Huddle Up: McCoy, who missed Week 15, is most definitely needed given the Bills' running-back health situation and should be considered a low-end flex consideration.

  • Posted: 12/20/2018 12:38pm ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 20.

Huddle Up: McCoy probably will receive a normal workload as long as he does not suffer a setback over the next few days. He can be considered a No. 2 running back in fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 12/20/2018 11:48am ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) said he believes he will be able to play in the Week 16 game.

Huddle Up: McCoy was not able to play last week but appears to be on track to play against the New England Patriots. He will be a risky option because of the injury but can be a No. 2 fantasy running back if he receives his usual workload.

  • Posted: 12/19/2018 2:17pm ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) was limited in practice Wednesday, Dec. 19.

Huddle Up: We may need to keep tabs on McCoy's status up until kickoff as he appears to be headed for a questionable tag. Beware of starting him if he's active. If you're in the championship you may very well have more reliable options.

  • Posted: 12/16/2018 7:36am ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) will not play in Week 15's game against the Detroit Lions, according to a source.

Huddle Up: McCoy had been listed as questionable on the injury report after logging two limited practice sessions during the week but it's not surprising that he will be held out, with the Bills having been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention. There's a good chance that Chris Ivory (shoulder) will also be deactivated, meaning that Marcus Murphy and Keith Ford could share carries this afternoon. Murphy is worthy of consideration as a flex option in deeper leagues if Ivory is also ruled out.

  • Posted: 12/16/2018 5:48am ET

Buffalo Bills RB Marcus Murphy could receive the bulk of the carries for Week 15's game against the Detroit Lions if RBs LeSean McCoy (hamstring) and Chris Ivory (shoulder) are deactivated.

Huddle Up: Murphy is averaging 5.2 yards on 41 carries this season but should not be viewed as anything more than a desperation flex option in deep seasonal leagues if both McCoy and Ivory are held out of action. Keith Ford, who was promoted from the practice squad earlier in the week, could also receive a handful of carries versus Detroit but he is not a viable fantasy option.

  • Posted: 12/15/2018 9:25pm ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) is not expected to play against the Detroit Lions in Week 15, according to a source.

Huddle Up: With McCoy out, Chris Ivory has a chance to be a volume-based flex play. However, Ivory is also questionable, so Keith Ford or Marcus Murphy could be forced to lead the backfield.

  • Posted: 12/14/2018 12:42pm ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 14, and is listed as questionable for Week 15.

Huddle Up: McCoy probably will be a game-time decision for Week 15, so owners will need check the inactive list for his official status. He has a chance to be a No. 2 fantasy running back if he plays, but owners will need other options available in case he is ruled out.

  • Posted: 12/14/2018 9:43am ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) was expected to practice Friday, Dec. 14, and do more in workouts than he did the previous day as a limited participant.

Huddle Up: McCoy appears to be trending the right way, but his Week 15 status is still likely to come down to a game-time decision Sunday.

  • Posted: 12/13/2018 12:41pm ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) was limited during practice Thursday, Dec. 13.

Huddle Up: McCoy appears to have a chance to play in Week 15, but owners should know more about his status in the next few days. He will be a risky option if he is active for the game but could still be a No. 2 running back or flex option.

  • Posted: 12/12/2018 10:28am ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) was held out of practice Wednesday, Dec. 12.

Huddle Up: McCoy is considered day-to-day but his Week 15 outlook appears bleak. If he continues to miss practice and is ultimately inactive then Chris Ivory would be the primary rock toter. He hasn't answered the bell well when taking over for McCoy, so he would only be a flex consideration.

  • Posted: 12/10/2018 10:33am ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) is considered day-to-day with a hamstring strain after undergoing an MRI on Monday, Dec. 10.

Huddle Up: Fantasy owners who started McCoy yesterday hoping he could repeat his Week 10 two-score performance against the New York Jets are probably in worse shape. The 30-year-old was done for the day in Week 14 after generating one yard on two carries, likely sealing the fate of many of his fantasy owners in the process. He seems like a poor bet to go in a meaningless game against the Detroit Lions in Week 15, leaving Chris Ivory has a viable flex option should that be the case.

  • Posted: 12/10/2018 6:14am ET

Updating previous reports, Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) will have an MRI Monday, Dec. 10.

Huddle Up: Nothing is known until the results come out, but it's pretty unlikely you can count on McCoy for much if you're still playing in the fantasy playoffs. If Chris Ivory is available, he needs to be owned for depth.

  • Posted: 12/9/2018 3:00pm ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) rushed for one yard on two carries against the New York Jets in Week 14 before he left the game because of a hamstring injury.

Huddle Up: Owners will need to monitor the situation to see if McCoy will be able to play in Week 14. McCoy should be a starting option when he is healthy but will be a risky option because of the injury.

  • Posted: 12/9/2018 11:54am ET

Updating a previous report, Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) will miss the rest of the Week 14 game with a hamstring injury.

Huddle Up: A brutal turn of events for McCoy owners who started the veteran back in the fantasy playoffs and wound up with one yard on two carries. Chris Ivory will finish out the contest as the team's lead back.

  • Posted: 12/9/2018 10:40am ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) suffered a hamstring injury in the first quarter of Week 14 on Sunday, Dec. 9. His return is listed as questionable.

Huddle Up: McCoy's slow start in the game (2 carries for 1 yard) was compounded by an early hammy issue. Chris Ivory will take over as the Bills' main back if McCoy can't return.

  • Posted: 12/2/2018 6:02pm ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy rushed 15 times for 52 yards and caught four passes for 12 yards in a 21-17 loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 13.

Huddle Up: Big plays continue to elude McCoy, and despite a heavy workload, he is only a flex option for fantasy owners.

  • Posted: 11/25/2018 4:54pm ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy rushed 17 times for 46 yards in Week 12 against the Jacksonville Jaguars and he added just one catch for seven yards.

Huddle Up: McCoy was unable to build upon the momentum of his last game against the Jets when he had his only 100-yard rushing performance and only TDs. He has really struggled in Buffalo this season and is best used as a RB3 or flex fantasy option going forward.

  • Posted: 11/11/2018 2:13pm ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy rushed for 113 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries against the New York Jets in Week 10.

Huddle Up: McCoy posted his first 100-yard game of the season and picked up his first rushing touchdowns of the season. He has received at least 10 carries in five of his last six games and will continue to be the main running back for the Bills. He will be facing a tough Jacksonville Jaguars defense in Week 12 but could be a low-end No. 2 running back or flex option for owners.

  • Posted: 11/9/2018 8:52pm ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy said he doesn't have the answers to the offense's struggles this year, and he admitted to feeling frustrated about how the season has gone thus far.

Huddle Up: McCoy has been shut down on the ground in recent weeks, but he has managed 10 catches over the last two games. He's a volume-based flex play at this point.

  • Posted: 11/4/2018 3:13pm ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy rushed for 10 yards on 10 carries against the Chicago Bears in Week 9. He also caught four passes for 19 yards during the game.

Huddle Up: McCoy has been held to 24 rushing yards in the last three games but has been involved in the passing game. He should have more success next week against the New York Jets and can be a No. 2 running back or flex option.

  • Posted: 11/2/2018 7:15am ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy is in the team's plans for 2019, according to general manager Brandon Beane. 'We like what he brings, to the point we'll have him back in 2019,' Beane said. 'He'll definitely be a part of that.'

Huddle Up: Shady is averaging a career-low 3.4 yards per carry this season, and he hasn't scored a touchdown. He still has RB2 use in PPR leagues, but at 30, he's fading fast in fantasy.

  • Posted: 10/29/2018 8:33pm ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy rushed 12 times for just 13 times in the Week 8 game against the New England Patriots on Monday, Oct. 29. He made up for it with six receptions for a team-high 82 on eight targets.

Huddle Up: Shady was horrific in the run game, but he was the security blanket for Derek Anderson with the team behind most of the game. Anderson was knocked out of the game, so McCoy might need to re-adjust to Nathan Peterman, or perhaps the return of Josh Allen if he is healthy.

  • Posted: 10/28/2018 1:00pm ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (concussion) has cleared the concussion protocol and is expected to play in the team's Week 8 game.

Huddle Up: McCoy should receive most of the work at running back against the New England Patriots and likely will receive plenty of touches. He can be considered a No. 2 running back in most leagues.

  • Posted: 10/27/2018 9:20pm ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (concussion) is expected to play against the New England Patriots in Week 8, according to a source.

Huddle Up: This game could become ugly in short order, which doesn't bode well for McCoy's chances of putting up big numbers. Not to mention that if he has a setback, he plays on Monday and would leave you in a tough spot. He's a risky flex option, at best.

  • Posted: 10/27/2018 10:35am ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (concussion) was limited during practice Saturday, Oct. 27, and is listed as questionable for Week 8.

Huddle Up: McCoy still needs to be cleared by doctors before he is allowed to play, so owners should monitor his status over the next few days. He will be a risky option because the Bills play on Monday Night Football and could be benched if owners have healthier options available.

  • Posted: 10/27/2018 8:29am ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (concussion) remains in the league's concussion protocol Saturday, Oct. 27, according to head coach Sean McDermott.

Huddle Up: McCoy has participated on a limited basis in the team's first two practice sessions of the week, so he appears to be close to being cleared for game action. The Bills won't play until Monday night, giving McCoy an extra day to recover, so he's worthy of consideration as an RB2 option in most fantasy formats.

  • Posted: 10/25/2018 8:48am ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (concussion) is practicing on a limited basis Thursday, Oct. 25, but he remains in the concussion protocol.

Huddle Up: He appears close to being cleared since he's practicing. Shady has a midrange matchup against the New England Patriots this week as an RB2.

  • Posted: 10/21/2018 10:56pm ET

Updating previous reports, Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (head) has been placed in the NFL's concussion protocol after suffering a head injury during the team's loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, Oct. 21.

Huddle Up: After a slow start McCoy had turned it the past two weeks, but now the 30-year-old back is banged up again. He'll need to clear the protocol before he's eligible to return. If you're looking for a silver lining, McCoy will get an extra day to recover as the Bills host New England on Monday Night Football in Week 8.

  • Posted: 10/21/2018 1:36pm ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (head) rushed for one yard on two carries against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 7 before he left because of a head injury.

Huddle Up: McCoy will need to be cleared before he will be able to play in Week 8, so owners should monitor his practice participation during the week. He would be a No. 2 running back next week against the New England Patriots if he plays.

  • Posted: 10/21/2018 11:11am ET

Updating a previous report, Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (head) will not return to the Week 7 game because of his head injury.

Huddle Up: McCoy may have suffered a concussion during the game, but owners should know more about his status in the next day or two. Chris Ivory should receive a majority of the touches at running back while McCoy is sidelined and could be a flex option for owners.

  • Posted: 10/21/2018 10:21am ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (head) left the Week 7 game early and is being evaluated for a head injury.

Huddle Up: McCoy likely is being checked for a concussion and may not return to the game. Owners should keep an eye on the situation because Chris Ivory would receive most of the work at running back if McCoy misses any time.

  • Posted: 10/14/2018 6:11pm ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy rushed 16 times for 73 yards in Week 6 against the Houston Texans and he added three receptions for 21 yards on five targets.

Huddle Up: It isn't much, and he is still without a touchdown through five games, but at least Shady has 94 or more scrimmage yards in each of the past two weeks. He was drafted to be a RB1 in fantasy leagues, and he is far from that. However, at least he is starting to show some signs of life lately. The Bills travel to meet the Colts in Week 7.

  • Posted: 10/14/2018 8:20am ET

Updating a previous report, the Buffalo Bills appear unlikely to trade RB LeSean McCoy to the Philadelphia Eagles. There was no discussion of compensation during talks between the two sides last week and the Bills appear interested in holding on to McCoy through at least the 2019 season, according to a source.

Huddle Up: The Bills are likely to ask for a great deal in return for McCoy in any serious trade offer, so the odds of him going anywhere are slim. However, he should be viewed as a low-end RB2 or high-end flex option at this stage of his career.

  • Posted: 10/9/2018 9:20am ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy interests the Philadelphia Eagles, who have reached out to Buffalo to feel out a possible trade, a source said Tuesday, Oct. 9.

Huddle Up: The deal would make sense on all sides, with the Eagles needing RB help after losing Jay Ajayi to an ACL tear and the Bills seemingly building for the future. McCoy has been the Bills' top offensive weapon since arriving in 2015, but he's on the wrong side of 30 now and there's no reason to think he'd object to moving to a contending team and returning to the franchise where he's the all-time leading rusher. Stay tuned ...

  • Posted: 10/7/2018 1:27pm ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy rushed 24 times for 85 yards in Week 5 against the Tennessee Titans and he added two receptions for a team-high 23 yards on three targets.

Huddle Up: McCoy was the fantasy star for the Bills on a day both sides turned in some really ugly numbers. In fact, his total scrimmage yards easily set a season high, as his previous best was 68 total yards in Week 2 against the Chargers. Shady is struggling mightily and posting RB3-type numbers while failing to find the end zone in his four games. Stick with him at this point, but he is clearly no longer elite. The Bills will travel to meet the Texans in Week 6.

  • Posted: 9/30/2018 1:20pm ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy rushed five times for 24 yards in Week 4 against the Green Bay Packers and he had three catches for 13 yards.

Huddle Up: The Bills got away from the run early on after falling behind and the offense and team never recovered in the shutout loss. Part of the reason might have been because he was returning from an injury to his ribs, too, so there was no sense potentially aggravating his injury with the game out of hand. He'll look to get back on track in Week 5 against the visiting Titans.

  • Posted: 9/30/2018 9:05am ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (ribs) is active for the team's Week 4 game against the Green Bay Packers after sitting out Week 3.

Huddle Up: McCoy is back in his starting role, and while Chris Ivory and Marcus Murphy likely will still see a few touches, expect McCoy to handle the bulk of the load and is a usable flex/low-end RB2.

  • Posted: 9/29/2018 9:17pm ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (ribs) is playing against the Green Bay Packers in Week 4, according to a source.

Huddle Up: McCoy has been dealing with injuries out of the gate and has been unable to put up his typical numbers. He should be treated as a volume-based RB2 in Week 4.

  • Posted: 9/28/2018 10:28am ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (ribs) is listed as questionable for Week 4 after putting in a third straight limited practice Friday, Sept. 28. When asked Friday if McCoy will play, head coach Sean McDermott said, 'we'll see.'

  • Posted: 9/27/2018 11:46am ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (rib) was still limited in practice Thursday, Sept. 27.

Huddle Up: McCoy has already said he's going to play, although he may not see a full load given the recent injury and since he was absent last week. Even so, McCoy has to be viewed as an RB2 for the time being despite the disappointing start to the season and the injury.

  • Posted: 9/26/2018 12:00pm ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (rib) was limited in practice Wednesday, Sept. 26.

Huddle Up: McCoy already said he'll be playing this weekend. Whether or not he's given his full workload is another matter. Either way, he's got a decent matchup with the Green Bay Packers and deserves a look as an RB2.

  • Posted: 9/26/2018 10:51am ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (ribs) said he is playing this week despite dealing with cracked rib cartilage.

Huddle Up: McCoy has had an extra week to recover as he was not active in Week 3. The Bills may choose not to give McCoy his usual allotment of touches, but he is in RB2 territory nonetheless.
