Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate posted four catches for 25 yards in Week 2 against the New York Giants on Monday, Sept. 18.

Huddle Up: Tate had four of the six catches by Detroit wide receivers, but no one really had a huge night with an offense that was run heavy. He'll look for better results in Week 3 against the visiting Falcons.

  • Posted: 9/16/2017 11:25am ET

Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate (finger) fully participated in practice Saturday, Sept. 16, and is not on the injury report for Week 2.

Huddle Up: Tate recorded 10 catches and 107 yards in Week 1 and will continue to be a focal point in the passing game. He will be facing a tougher defense this week but should still be at least a No. 2 fantasy receiver in all leagues.

  • Posted: 9/15/2017 2:32pm ET

Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate (finger) practiced in full Friday, Sept. 15.

Huddle Up: Tate is expected to play without a hitch Monday night. The matchup is difficult, so he's a low-end WR2, in best-case scenario this week.

  • Posted: 9/14/2017 1:30pm ET

Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate (finger) was limited in practice Thursday, Sept. 14.

Huddle Up: Tate doesn't appear to be in serious jeopardy of missing out on Week 2, but his status should be tracked heading into the weekend nonetheless. Assuming he's good to go, he's a solid WR2 play.

  • Posted: 9/10/2017 4:34pm ET

Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate posted game highs with 10 receptions and 107 yards in Week 1 against the Cardinals. He was targeted 12 times.

Huddle Up: Tate is Matthew Stafford's top target and he certainly looked the part in the opener. Despite the fact he drew Patrick Peterson in cover, he showed well. He'll look to build on this effort into Week 2 at N.Y. Giants. Tate remains a WR2 in most fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 8/25/2017 6:59pm ET

Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate caught all five passes thrown his way for 62 yards against the New England Patriots in the preseason Friday, Aug. 25.

Huddle Up: Tate looked every bit the part of Matthew Stafford's go-to target, and he should be one of the safest WR2 options, especially in PPR formats.

  • Posted: 8/22/2017 6:30am ET

Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate could play more in the slot with WR Kenny Golladay potentially ready for a starting spot outside.

Huddle Up: Tate is built more like a slot receiver, and he doesn't get enough credit for what he has done the last three seasons somewhat out of position on the outside. He'll remain their top receiving option, and the move could only be a positive. He's a strong WR2 in fantasy.

  • Posted: 7/16/2017 5:11pm ET

Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate has the sixth-most receptions in the NFL since signing with Detroit in 2014, and he has reached 90 receptions in all three seasons with the team.

Huddle Up: Tate is locked in as Matthew Stafford's go-to option. He is an underrated WR2 with a high floor in PPR formats.

  • Posted: 7/12/2017 7:09am ET

Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate was seventh in the NFL last season with 153 receiving yards after contact.

Huddle Up: Tate started slowly, but he ended up with a 91-1,077-4 line. He's an underrated WR2 in fantasy.

  • Posted: 7/10/2017 9:38pm ET

Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate has forced 53 missed tackles since 2015, the most in the NFL by a wide receiver over that span.

Huddle Up: Tate has been a target and reception machine since joining Detroit in 2014, racking up at least 90 catches and drawing more than 125 targets in each of his three years with the Lions. Considering his talents and the high-powered offense he plays in with Matthew Stafford under center, it looks like Tate can be relied upon again as a WR2 in 2017.

  • Posted: 2/25/2017 9:22pm ET

Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate averaged 3.4 catches, 6.1 targets and 26.8 yards per game over the first five games of 2016, but he posted per-game averages of 6.7 catches, 9.5 targets and 85.7 yards over the final 11 games.

Huddle Up: Despite the slow start, Tate reached 90 receptions for the third straight year and topped 1,000 yards. He should be a dependable WR2 in PPR formats in 2017.

  • Posted: 12/26/2016 9:50pm ET

Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate posted six receptions for 58 yards on his six targets in the Week 16 game against the Dallas Cowboys Monday, Dec. 26.

Huddle Up: Tate's production has been erratic lately, posting 100-yard games in two of the past four while sandwiched around a pair of mediocre performances. He does have six or more grabs in four straight and eight of the past 10 to help those in PPR fantasy formats.

  • Posted: 12/18/2016 2:05pm ET

Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate caught eight of his 13 targeted passes for 122 yards in a 17-6 loss to the New York Giants.

Huddle Up: One of his passes was a 67-yard strike from Matthew Stafford, and that was more a victim of the Giants giving up big plays than anything else. If Tate can do this against a defense like New York, however, then he's worth starting as a WR1.

  • Posted: 12/11/2016 8:50pm ET

Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate picked up six receptions for 58 yards on a game-high 11 targets in the Week 14 game against the Chicago Bears.

Huddle Up: Tate has totaled 19 catches for 280 yards and a touchdown over the past three games. He has re-emerged as a useful WR3 in most fantasy formats after a touch stretch in early November.

  • Posted: 12/4/2016 2:42pm ET

Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate finished with eight catches and 145 yards, including a 66-yard touchdown scamper, in a 28-13 win over the New Orleans Saints.

Huddle Up: Tate took advantage of a porous Saints pass defense on his long touchdown, but the bigger story is how well Tate did overall. Take away that long TD and he still had 79 receiving yards. Tate is a strong WR1 on a Lions squad with plenty of pass-catching options.

  • Posted: 11/20/2016 5:54pm ET

Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate posted three receptions for 27 yards in the Week 11 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was targeted four times.

Huddle Up: Tate crushed his fantasy owners with three grabs, his fewest since Week 5. He entered with 32 receptions over the past four outings with at least 79 yards in three of the four games. Tate will look to rebound in Week 12 against the Vikings on Thanksgiving. He posted 11 grabs for 79 yards and a touchdown in Week 9 in the first meeting in Minnesota.

  • Posted: 11/6/2016 2:58pm ET

Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate finished with 11 catches, 79 yards, and a 28-yard touchdown catch from QB Matthew Stafford in overtime. The Lions beat the Minnesota Vikings, 22-16.

Huddle Up: Tate's strong outing elevated his status among fantasy owners. Tate shouldn't be your WR1 but a WR2/WR3 is not out of the question. He and Stafford have developed a nice rapport.

  • Posted: 10/23/2016 5:42pm ET

Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate had six receptions for 93 yards in the Week 7 game against the Washington Redskins. He was targeted 12 times.

Huddle Up: Tate started out very slowly, and likely was dropped by a high percentage of fantasy owners. However, he has 14 catches for 258 yards and a score over his past two games, and he has been targeted 22 times. Matthew Stafford has re-discovered Tate, and he has re-emerged as a trustworthy fantasy option in most formats heading into Week 8 in Houston.

  • Posted: 10/16/2016 8:36pm ET

Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate posted eight receptions for a game-high 165 yards and a touchdown in the Week 6 game against the Los Angeles Rams. He was targeted 10 times.

Huddle Up: Tate had been a huge disappointment to date, posting just 17 receptions for 134 yards in his first five games, so a lot of fantasy owners likely had benched or dropped him, missing out on this gem. If he is available off the waiver wire he is worth a look in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams heading into Week 7 against Washington.

  • Posted: 10/15/2016 12:26pm ET

Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate may lineup at running back at times during the team's Week 6 game in order to be a receiver out of the backfield.

Huddle Up: Tate saw time at running back in the last game and likely will be used there again because of Theo Riddick's injury. Tate has been pretty quiet so far this season but should still be at least a flex option for owners.

  • Posted: 10/9/2016 5:29pm ET

Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate posted three receptions for just 39 yards in the Week 5 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He was targeted five times.

Huddle Up: Tate was counted upon to be a player filling the void following the retirement of Calvin Johnson, but Tate has been a bust with just 17 grabs, 134 yards and no touchdowns through five games. He is only worth keeping around as a WR4 until he starts to produce.

  • Posted: 10/6/2016 9:40am ET

Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter said he expects WR Golden Tate to have a big game against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 5.

Huddle Up: Tate has caught only 14 passes for 95 yards and zero touchdowns in the first four games of the season, but the team says he is still an important part of the offense. Owners can still consider him a starting option but he is more of a No. 2 or No. 3 receiver in most leagues.

  • Posted: 10/3/2016 10:00am ET

Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate was not benched in a Week 4 loss against the Chicago Bears and remains an important part of the offense, according to head coach Jim Caldwell.

Huddle Up: Considering Tate played only 36 of 63 snaps and saw very little playing time after Matthew Stafford was seen yelling at him for running the wrong route on an interception, it's probably safe to assume he was benched. This season has been a startling fall from grace for the 28-year-old Notre Dame product, who recorded at least 90 catches in both of his first two years in Detroit. It's still too early to drop him in most competitive leagues, but he doesn't warrant a fantasy start anytime soon either.

  • Posted: 9/30/2016 9:32pm ET

Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate is still the top option in the passing game, according to offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter, and Cooter said Tate's slow start is a product of the offense's emphasis of spreading the ball around.

Huddle Up: While Marvin Jones and Theo Riddick thrive, Tate has just 94 yards through three games. Tate should have his chance to shine at some point, and he has enough upside to use as a WR3 against a winless Bears team in Week 4.
