Huddle Up: Dickson had a chance at a big role in the offense, but right now it's Nick Vannett and Will Dissly handling the top two spots at tight end. Even when Dickson is healthy, he is more of a blocking tight end rather than a successful pass catcher, and he always has been. Don't expect much in the way of fantasy appeal at this point of his career.

Huddle Up: The Dolphins likely will be losing two tight ends this offseason, so Burton and Dickson could be starting options for them. Burton would have more fantasy value if he signs with the Dolphins and could be a low-end No. 1 fantasy tight end, while Dickson likely would be a No. 2 tight end.

Huddle Up: Since Greg Olsen went down with injury, Dickson has emerged into a decent tight end option for deeper formats. In fact, he's garnered five or more targets in five of the last six weeks, though he's only got one touchdown to show for it. As a result, he's not someone to lean on in standard leagues, though he's not a bad streaming option either in such scenarios.

Huddle Up: Dickson blew up for 175 yards in Week 5 in Detroit, but he has managed just 11 receptions for 78 yards on 20 targets over the past four games. That's more like what you can expect from Dickson, which is not much. Greg Olsen cannot return soon enough from a foot injury for Cam Newton and the Cats.

Huddle Up: Even though he has received a consistent number of targets while filling in for Greg Olsen (foot), fantasy owners should not expect Dickson to come close to replicating the five-catch, 175-yard performance he had in Week 5 versus the Detroit Lions. He should be viewed as a midrange TE2 in most fantasy formats.

Huddle Up: Dickson was listed as questionable on the injury report even though he was a full participant in the team's final two practice sessions of the week. He should be considered a midrange TE2 in the majority of fantasy formats.

Huddle Up: Dickson appears to have a good chance to play this week, but owners will need to check the inactive list to make sure. He has been targeted 13 times over the last two games but has only 54 yards over that span. Owners can be considered other options for their lineups.

Huddle Up: Dickson has been targeted 13 times over the last two weeks but has only 54 yards during that span. He has been involved in the passing game since taking over for Greg Olsen but has had only one big offensive game. Owners in most leagues likely have better options available and can avoid Dickson.

Huddle Up: That's two below-average performances since his breakout 175-yard game at Detroit in Week 5. We told you that game was an anomaly, as Dickson remains more of a TE2 in most fantasy formats.

Huddle Up: Coming off a massive Week 5, Dickson looked much more like the player he'd been over the first seven years of his career. He could still have some appeal while Greg Olsen is out, but he's not someone you can reliably plug into your lineup on a weekly basis.

Huddle Up: Dickson hadn't done much since Greg Olsen went down with an injury, but he had a giant performance in this one. He'll be a popular pick off the waiver wire heading into Week 6, but he should still be treated more as a low-end TE2 heading into Thursday's game against the Eagles.

Huddle Up: Dickson has taken over the starting tight end job with Greg Olsen sidelined but caught only one pass in Week 3. He could receive a few more targets during games but should be avoided in all fantasy leagues.

Huddle Up: Dickson's usage rate didn't increase at all with Greg Olsen (foot) sidelined, as most of the short-route work went to Christian McCaffrey. If you targeted Dickson for fantasy purposes you can quickly abandon that plan. The Panthers travel to meet the Patriots in Week 4.
