Huddle Up: Injuries remain a constant issue for Watkins, but he wasn't bad when he was on the field. He topped 60 yards in five of his final six games, including the playoffs, and even as the No. 3 option in the Kansas City passing attack, he will have WR3 upside in 2019.

Huddle Up: Watkins is coming off a solid performance in the Divisional Round playoff game and should see a decent amount of targets this week. He can be considered a No. 2 receiver in fantasy leagues.

Huddle Up: Watkins returned to the lineup last week and caught six passes for 62 yards. He should see a solid amount of targets this week against the New England Patriots and can be a No. 2 fantasy receiver.

Huddle Up: Watkins surprised many last week as he tallied six catches for 62 in his return. He can't be relied on for consistent production, but he's a decent flex consideration for those in DFS contests.
-
Posted: 1/14/2019 12:14pm ET
Huddle Up: Somewhat surprisingly, Watkins was quite involved in Kansasy City's victor, catching six passes for 62 yards. His health can't be trusted, but he's an under-the-radar DFS play for championship weekend.
-

Huddle Up: Watkins and Tyreek Hill can form a formidable receiving duo next season if Watkins can stay healthy. Health has been a big issue for Watkins throughout his career and it's what makes him a risky draftee.
-
Posted: 1/12/2019 8:21am ET
Huddle Up: Watkins was listed as questionable on the injury report after being a limited practice participant throughout the week. He has been sidelined since mid-November due to a foot injury but is worthy of consideration as a flex option in postseason fantasy contests.
-
Posted: 1/10/2019 2:14pm ET
Huddle Up: Watkins has not played since the middle of November because of his foot injury but was able to do things in all three practices this week. Owners will need to check the inactive list for his official status, but he can be at least a flex option if he plays.
-
Posted: 1/9/2019 2:29pm ET
Huddle Up: Watkins might be able to suit up for Saturday's game against the Indianapolis Colts, but check for his official injury status on Thursday. He is a risky play in fantasy pools and DFS, as he hasn't been 100 percent in a while.
-
Posted: 1/8/2019 10:08am ET
Huddle Up: Watkins has been out since Week 11 with a foot injury, and his first order of business will be getting through the week of practice before we can decide on using him in divisional-playoff fantasy lineups on Saturday.
-
Posted: 12/26/2018 2:56pm ET
Huddle Up: Watkins hasn't played since Nov. 19, so fantasy owners have long since cut bait on him. The 25-year-old has a ton of talent but just cannot seem to stay on the field for long periods of time without a nagging injury.
-
Posted: 12/21/2018 3:38pm ET
Huddle Up: Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce and Damien Williams likely will be the main options in the passing game with Watkins still sidelined and should all be starting options.
-
Posted: 12/20/2018 10:12am ET
Huddle Up: Watkins is trending downward and could easily miss another game. Were he to be active he would still be coming off an injury and in a tough matchup with a hostile environment. Don't start Watkins with a title at stake.
-
Posted: 12/19/2018 4:38pm ET
Huddle Up: Watkins has not played in a game since last month and probably will miss another game if he does not practice this week. Owners can keep him on the bench until he returns to practice on a regular basis.
-
Posted: 12/17/2018 3:05pm ET
Huddle Up: Watkins has not played in about a month but may be able to play in Week 16 if he is able to practice this week. Owners should monitor his practice participation during the week to have a better idea on his status but should only consider him a flex option if he plays.
-
Posted: 12/12/2018 12:47pm ET
Huddle Up: Watkins' injury-plagued career continues. You probably weren't starting him anyway, though. Chris Conley deserves considerable thought as flex play.
-
Posted: 12/11/2018 10:16am ET
Huddle Up: Watkins has missed the last two games and is likely to miss a third with the Chiefs on a short week and playing Thursday night.
-
Posted: 12/10/2018 6:52pm ET
Huddle Up: Watkins has been close to a return, but it's a good idea to probably let him officially return and play a full game without any setbacks before trusting him again in your active fantasy lineup. As such, time really is running out on him being a useful option in 2018.
-
Posted: 12/9/2018 6:29am ET
Huddle Up: Watkins had been listed as doubtful on the injury report after injuring his foot in practice Thursday, Dec. 6, and he should be considered week-to-week. There is a strong possibility that he won't be able to return until the NFL postseason begins, so owners in redraft leagues can cut ties with him.
-
Posted: 12/7/2018 1:27pm ET
Huddle Up: Watkins should be avoided in all fantasy leagues at this critical juncture of the season. Even if he is able to suit up, he'd likely be a decoy at this point.
-
Posted: 12/7/2018 9:44am ET
Huddle Up: Mellinger later clarified the four-to-six week projection includes the three games Watkins has already missed, so he's essentially week-to-week after Week 14. Still, owners can probably afford to part ways with Watkins, since it is quite possible he may not return until the first week of the NFL playoffs. Chris Conley figures to start in his place in the interim and can be used as a low-end, high-upside WR3 in the first round of the fantasy playoffs in most leagues.
-
Posted: 12/7/2018 9:19am ET
Huddle Up: This further underscores why the Chiefs signed Kelvin Benjamin. Kansas City has managed to do pretty well without Watkins this season and will likely continue to do so long as Patrick Mahomes stays healthy. Assuming this report turns out to be accurate, owners should have no problem moving on from Watkins.
-
Posted: 12/6/2018 3:04pm ET
Huddle Up: Watkins may be a game-time decision this week, so owners will need to keep an eye on the situation. He would be facing a tough Baltimore Ravens defense if he is active and may only be a flex option in some leagues.
-
Posted: 12/5/2018 2:09pm ET
Huddle Up: Watkins might be ready to return this week, but circle back around on Friday. He is a bit of a risky play, especially with most people getting ready for the fantasy playoffs. It might be best to wait on him, see him play a full game without any setbacks before trusting him again.
-
Posted: 11/29/2018 10:10am ET
Huddle Up: Watkins appears to be a longshot to play this week since he has missed the last two practices even after a bye week. As such, Chris Conley is a strong flex play in a favorable matchup versus the Oakland Raiders.
-
Posted: 11/28/2018 11:56am ET
Huddle Up: Watkins was a decoy in Kansas City's barn burner two weeks and still hasn't recovered enough to practice. If he is held out again then Chris Conley would have flex appeal.
-
Posted: 11/19/2018 9:17pm ET
Huddle Up: Watkins was obviously active, but he was rather limited and did not get a chance to take part in the conga line into the end zone. The Chiefs had six receiving scores, but Watkins was mostly a decoy. The Chiefs are off in Week 12, so he'll have two full weeks to get healthier.
-
Posted: 11/17/2018 12:21pm ET
Huddle Up: Watkins a risky option for owners since he could be a game-time decision and will be playing on Monday Night Football. Owners can consider benching Watkins because of the uncertain status but will need another receiver from that game ready if they decide to start him and he is ruled out.
-
Posted: 11/17/2018 10:04am ET
Huddle Up: Watkins did not practice Friday, Nov. 16, so his status for Week 11 is uncertain at this point. He is a risky option since the Chiefs play on Monday Night Football, so owners can consider benching Watkins if they have other options available.
-
Posted: 11/16/2018 9:49am ET
Huddle Up: Watkins was limited on Thursday, so this is not a great sign for someone who is expected to play. With the Chiefs playing on Monday night, Saturday's practice report will be the one owners really need to pay attention to this week. Watkins has low-end WR2 upside if he can play against the Los Angeles Rams this week, while Chris Conley could be deployed as a desperation WR3 if he doesn't.
-
Posted: 11/15/2018 3:31pm ET
Huddle Up: Watkins missed last week's win versus Arizona but since he was able to get in a limited practice here, it seems more likely than not that he'll be able to return for Monday night's showdown in Los Angeles. He'll carry a WR2 status for what should be a high-scoring affair.
-
Posted: 11/15/2018 10:12am ET
Huddle Up: Watkins' fantasy owners can expect to have the wideout back after having to go without him in Week 10, and he'd be a solid flex/low-end WR2 play in what very well could be a Monday-night shootout against the Rams.
-
Posted: 11/12/2018 10:46am ET
Huddle Up: Watkins was likely held out in Week 10 with an eye on the upcoming Monday Night Football game against the Rams and the bye coming up in Week 12. There should be no shortage of fantasy production in that contest - to be played at elevation in Mexico City - so Watkins should be a serviceable WR2.
-
Posted: 11/11/2018 5:57am ET
Huddle Up: Watkins was listed as questionable on the injury report but only participated in one practice session during the week on a limited basis. WRs Chris Conley and Demarcus Robinson could see additional targets in Watkins' absence, with Conley worthy of consideration as a flex option in deeper fantasy leagues due to the favorable matchup.
-
Posted: 11/9/2018 12:59pm ET
Huddle Up: Watkins may be a game-time decision this week, so owners will need to check the inactive list for his official status. He has been playing well over the last five weeks and will have a favorable matchup if he is active. He can be considered a No. 2 receiver if he plays.
-
Posted: 11/9/2018 10:16am ET
Huddle Up: It's a good sign that Watkins is showing some progress late in the week, but we're guessing right now that his status for Sunday will come down to a game-time decision. In other words, Watkins' fantasy owners need to have another option at the ready.
-
Posted: 11/8/2018 9:53am ET
Huddle Up: This is starting to look like it might affect Watkins' status for Week 10, but check back Friday to see where things stand. In the meantime, start making contingency plans for finding other WR2/flex help.
-
Posted: 11/7/2018 10:34am ET
Huddle Up: It was the Chiefs' first day of practice so don't be too alarmed yet. Although, the injury coupled with the Arizona Cardinals underrated pass defense make Watkins a flex play at best.
-
Posted: 11/7/2018 5:24am ET
Huddle Up: Keep an eye on him through the week as he is a good WR3 option against the Arizona Cardinals.
-
Posted: 11/4/2018 4:16pm ET
Huddle Up: It was an OK showing for Watkins for his PPR owners, but his performance those in standard play was disappointing. He'll try and do better in Week 10 against the visiting Arizona Cardinals.
-
Posted: 10/28/2018 3:15pm ET
Huddle Up: Watkins easily had his best performance as a member of the Chiefs, and he is worth using as a WR3 or flex fantasy option heading into Week 9 against the Cleveland Browns, particularly in PPR leagues.
-
Posted: 10/21/2018 11:07pm ET
Huddle Up: It's been pretty clear for most of the season Watkins needs an injury to either Tyreek Hill and/or Travis Kelce to be anything more than a complementary piece in this offense. He has scored only once despite starting in perhaps the league's most explosive aerial attack and topped 70 yards receiving in only three of seven games this season. He'll be a fringe WR3 in many leagues in Week 8 against the Denver Broncos.
-
Posted: 10/14/2018 10:23pm ET
Huddle Up: Watkins had managed at least 78 yards or a touchdown in his last three games, so this was a disappointment for his fantasy owners. He didn't make his first catch until late in the third quarter and obviously did not appear to be a big part of the game plan at any point. Nevertheless, expect him to bounce back and deliver WR3 production against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 7.
-
Posted: 10/11/2018 3:10pm ET
Huddle Up: Watkins is coming off a solid Week 5 performance against one of the best defenses in the NFL and has been targeted at least seven times in three of the last four games. He can be considered a solid No. 3 receiver in most fantasy leagues.
-
Posted: 10/10/2018 2:41pm ET
Huddle Up: There are expected to be and supposed to be a massive amount of points in this contest between the Chiefs and New England Patriots. As such, you can do worse than to start Watkins as a WR3 or flex as he comes off a six-catch, 78-yard performance.
-
Posted: 10/7/2018 7:20pm ET
Huddle Up: The good news is Watkins made it through the game without any setbacks from the hamstring ailment he suffered on Monday night in Denver. It appears safe to plug him back into the fantasy lineup for the Week 6 road game against the Patriots.
-
Posted: 10/7/2018 9:20am ET
Huddle Up: Watkins will be facing a tough Jacksonville Jaguars defense this week, which makes him a risky option for owners. He could be a flex option in some leagues but can also be benched if owners have better options.
-
Posted: 10/7/2018 6:14am ET
Huddle Up: Watkins was listed as questionable on the injury report and was a limited practice participant throughout the week. Despite the difficulty of the matchup, Watkins should be viewed as a decent WR3 or flex option this week due to the success of the Kansas City passing offense, assuming he is active.
-
Posted: 10/5/2018 1:11pm ET
Huddle Up: Owners will need to check the inactive list to see if Watkins will be able to play this week. He is part of one of the best passing offenses in the NFL and can be a No. 3 fantasy receiver if he plays even though he would be facing a tough opponent.
-
Posted: 10/4/2018 3:45pm ET
Huddle Up: Watkins appears to have a decent chance to play in Week 5, but owners will know more about his status in the next few days. He would be facing a tough Jacksonville Jaguars secondary if he plays and could be benched if owners have better options.
