Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles will start the Week 12 game against the Buffalo Bills, as head coach Doug Marrone confirmed the quarterback will not be benched. 'We're not going to do that,' Marrone said Monday. Nov. 19.

Huddle Up: Bortles might not be headed back to the bench, but he shouldn't be headed to anyone's starting fantasy lineup anytime soon, either.

  • Posted: 11/18/2018 5:57pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles completed 10-of-18 passes for just 108 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 11 against the Pittsburgh Steelers and he was sacked six times with a fumble lost.

Huddle Up: Bortles has been abysmal from a fantasy perspective lately, tossing just five touchdown passes across the past six outings. The only place he should be rostered is in fantasy leagues of 14 or more teams using two starting signal callers. Next up is a trip to Buffalo in Week 12.

  • Posted: 11/11/2018 5:06pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles completed 26 of his 38 passes for 320 yards and two touchdowns in a 29-26 loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 10.

Huddle Up: It was just the third time this season that Bortles has thrown multiple touchdowns and the first time since Week 4. Don't make too much of one decent performance against a below average defense. He should return to his low-end QB2 status against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 11.

  • Posted: 11/8/2018 2:59pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (shoulder) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 8.

Huddle Up: Bortles is coming off a solid Week 9 performance but has struggled at times this season. He could have some success against the Indianapolis Colts this week, but owners in most leagues should be able to find better options for their lineups.

  • Posted: 11/7/2018 1:32pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (shoulder) was listed as a full participant for practice Wednesday, Nov. 7.

Huddle Up: Bortles will be facing the NFL's 23rd-ranked passing defense, as the Colts allow 261.5 yards per game through the air with 13 touchdowns through eight games. However, he is only worth using as a desperation streaming option if your primary option has a bye and as a QB2 in most other formats.

  • Posted: 11/5/2018 8:41am ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (shoulder) was a full participant in practice Monday, Nov. 5.

Huddle Up: Bortles is only a consideration in two-QB leagues.

  • Posted: 10/30/2018 6:10pm ET

The Jacksonville Jaguars 'poked around' for a quarterback to replace QB Blake Bortles at the trade deadline but decided to remain 'all-in' on Bortles, according to Dan Graziano of ESPN.com.

Huddle Up: Bortles has thrown one touchdown or less in six of his eight games, and even with Jacksonville's defense struggling, he hasn't been able to pad his numbers in garbage time. Jacksonville may be sticking with him, but there is no reason for fantasy owners to do the same.

  • Posted: 10/28/2018 10:24am ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles went 24-for-41 for 286 yards and one touchdown against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 8. He also rushed for 43 yards on eight carries during the game.

Huddle Up: Bortles rebounded after two disappointing performances and does not appear to be in danger of losing his starting job. He will be facing the Indianapolis Colts in Week 10 but should not be a starting option in any league.

  • Posted: 10/24/2018 11:37pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles will receive all of the starter reps in practice this week, according to head coach Doug Marrone. Earlier reports suggested QB Cody Kessler would get some time with the first-team offense, but Marrone indicated the distribution of reps would be the same as it has been since the season began.

Huddle Up: Bortles has been mostly bad the past three games, but the Jags need him to rebound if they're going to get their season back on track so Marrone will have to hope last week's benching serves as a wake-up call. For fantasy purposes, Bortles is too risky to start despite a track record of success in London.

  • Posted: 10/22/2018 1:29pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles will return as starting quarterback in Week 8, according to head coach Doug Marrone. Marrone said he believes Bortles gives the Jaguars the best chance to win.

Huddle Up: Bortles has played abysmally in his last three contests, throwing two touchdowns and five interceptions. His rushing ability makes him more fantasy relevant, but he simply can't be trusted as a starting fantasy quarterback at this juncture.

  • Posted: 10/22/2018 12:20pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles was not immediately named the starter for Week 8 against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday, Oct. 22. Head coach Doug Marrone told reporters he has yet to make a decision and won't until he has a chance to speak to the team.

Huddle Up: Given how often coaches make a next-day proclamation they are staying with an embattled starter, so this likely means Cody Kessler will be getting the nod in London this weekend. Bortles was benched in Week 7 after losing two fumbles, giving him eight turnovers the last three games. Kessler accounted for himself fairly well after Bortles' benching, but there's nothing in his history to suggest he is going to be the answer.

  • Posted: 10/21/2018 2:52pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles went 6-for-12 for 61 yards against the Houston Texans in Week 7 before he was benched in favor of QB Cody Kessler.

Huddle Up: Bortles has struggled over the last three weeks, and it is not known if he will be the starting quarterback in Week 8. Owners can monitor the situation during the week but should avoid the team's quarterback situation in all leagues.

  • Posted: 10/21/2018 11:49am ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles was benched during the team's Week 7 game and has been replaced by QB Cody Kessler.

Huddle Up: Bortles has struggled this season, but it is not known if he will regain his job next season or if Kessler will be the starter moving forward. Owners in all leagues should avoid the Jaguars quarterback situation.

  • Posted: 10/14/2018 8:14pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles completed 15 of his 26 passes for 149 yards, a touchdown and an interception in a 40-7 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 6.

Huddle Up: Since a solid showing in the opener, Bortles has managed just four touchdowns and six interceptions over the last four games. He is barely worth a look as a QB2 at this point.

  • Posted: 10/7/2018 6:22pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles completed 33-of-61 passes for 430 yards with a passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown in Week 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs, but he was also picked off four times while losing a fumble.

Huddle Up: Turning it over five times isn't going to beat most NFL teams, especially an unbeaten championship contender. Bortles still did pretty good for his group of fantasy owners, and he helped out those who own stock in the Chiefs DST, too, as one of the INTs was good for a pick-six. He'll look to clean up the mistakes in Week 6 against the Cowboys.

  • Posted: 9/30/2018 6:56pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles completed 29-of-38 passes for 388 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in the Week 4 game against the New York Jets and he ran for 28 yards.

Huddle Up: Bortles bounced back from his stinker in Week 3 for his second 300-yard game in the past three outings. He has six TD passes and just two INTs over his past three. Consider him a decent QB2, or fringe low-end QB1 in fantasy leagues of 14 or more teams, heading into a huge Week 5 showdown against the Kansas City Chiefs.

  • Posted: 9/23/2018 1:47pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles went 21-for-34 for 155 yards against the Tennessee Titans in Week 3. He also rushed for 27 yards on five carries during the game.

Huddle Up: Bortles has been held under 200 yards in two of the three games this season but should have a more favorable matchup next week against the New York Jets. He should still only be considered a No. 2 quarterback in most leagues.

  • Posted: 9/16/2018 11:33pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles finished 29-of-45 for 377 yards, four touchdowns and an interception in Week 2 versus the New England Patriots. He added six carries for 35 yards.

Huddle Up: With Leonard Fournette sidelined, the Jaguars took to the air almost immediately and really never stopped attacking in this AFC Championship rematch. Bortles connected with four different receivers on his TD throws, while his 377 yards passing were the third most of his career. The Jaguars will likely have him return to more of a game manager role once Fournette returns, but there's no question he should be picked up off waivers in fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 9/9/2018 2:13pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles went 18-for-33 for 176 yards, one touchdown and one interception against the New York Giants in Week 1. He also rushed for 42 yards on four carries during the game.

Huddle Up: Bortles is working with a young receiver corps and may need more time to build a better chemistry with them. He may be asked to do more against the New England Patriots next week but should not be a starting option.

  • Posted: 8/25/2018 6:46pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles completed 17 of his 23 passes for 204 yards and two interceptions against the Atlanta Falcons in the preseason Saturday, Aug. 25.

Huddle Up: Bortles will have an occasional big game, but the turnovers remain a concern. He's a QB2 at the helm of a Jacksonville offense that wants to run the ball.

  • Posted: 8/18/2018 1:57pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles went 12-for-20 for-159 yards and one interception in the preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings Saturday, Aug. 18.

Huddle Up: Bortles is coming off a productive playoff run and will have a solid receiving corps to work with this season. He probably should be considered a No. 2 quarterback in deeper leagues.

  • Posted: 7/4/2018 4:33pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles has earned the trust of offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, and Hackett said Bortles' improved decision making will allow him to be 'a lot more aggressive' with his play calling.

Huddle Up: There were times when the Jaguars were winning in spite of Bortles, but he has topped 20 passing touchdowns and 300 rushing yards in each of the past three seasons. A few more shots down the field could boost his numbers a bit, but he should be a solid QB2 regardless.

  • Posted: 6/2/2018 8:46pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles has been 'relaxed' at OTAs because he no longer needs to think about the plays or his footwork, according to offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett.

Huddle Up: Bortles can have his issues with turnovers, but he's also a good bet for 20-plus touchdown passes and a sneaky source of rushing yards. He's a solid QB2.

  • Posted: 2/26/2018 4:00pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles has thrown for 90 career passing touchdowns and just under 15,000 passing yards. Former NFL QBs Peyton Manning, Dan Marino and Drew Bledsoe and Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford are the only quarterbacks in NFL history to achieve those numbers before turning 26 years old. Bortles turns 26 in April.

Huddle Up: It's a strange world we live in when we can mention Bortles' name positively in the same sentence as Peyton Manning and Dan Marino. And while technically Bortles is not a part of that list since he has not reached 15,000 yards yet, he's practically there. Coming off an unsung season and after just signing a big contract extension, Bortles is an underrated potential QB1.

  • Posted: 2/25/2018 9:06am ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) said he is on schedule in his recovery from offseason wrist surgery and should be fully cleared by early March.

Huddle Up: Bortles played well at times this season and will have some value in fantasy leagues next season. He can be considered a No. 2 fantasy quarterbacks in most leagues but has the chance to be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in deeper leagues.

  • Posted: 2/24/2018 4:30pm ET

Updating a previous report, Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles agreed to a new three-year contract with the Jaguars Saturday, Feb. 24, worth $54 million, according to a source. The deal includes $26 million in guaranteed money and could be worth as much as $66.5 million with incentives.

Huddle Up: Bortles improved his play in 2017 and will have most of his receivers back next season. He should be at least a No. 2 fantasy quarterback in most leagues and has a chance to low-end No. 1 quarterback in some deeper leagues.

  • Posted: 2/24/2018 4:28pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles is close to agreeing to a multi-year contract extension with the Jaguars that will run through the 2020 season, according to sources.

Huddle Up: Bortles played well during the second half of the season and also posted good numbers during the playoffs. He will have a solid receiving corps to work with next season and can be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback in most leagues and possibly a low-end No. 1 quarterback in deeper leagues.

  • Posted: 2/23/2018 6:47pm ET

The Jacksonville Jaguars are actively pursuing upgrades to QB Blake Bortles, according to a league source.

Huddle Up: If Bortles ends up entering 2018 as the starter, he's a worthwhile fantasy backup. He has topped 20 touchdowns in each of the last three seasons and is sneaky effective as a runner.

  • Posted: 2/11/2018 7:24pm ET

The Jacksonville Jaguars could select a quarterback in the first or second round of the 2018 NFL Draft to provide competition for QB Blake Bortles, according Mike DiRocco of ESPN.com.

Huddle Up: Bortles' long-term future with the Jaguars remains in doubt, but he should at least be a quality QB2 in 2018. He has thrown more than 20 touchdowns in each of the last three seasons and has topped 300 rushing yards in all four years in the league.

  • Posted: 1/30/2018 1:22pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) is expected to remain with the Jaguars despite recently undergoing surgery on his injured wrist, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Rapoport said the plan all along has been for Bortles to return as starter.

Huddle Up: The Jaguars have to be tempted to draft a quarterback in such a deep draft class, but Bortles improved in 2017 and quarterbacked Jacksonville to the AFC Championship. He has his fair share of mistakes, which he cut back on last season, but Bortles is an underrated fantasy quarterback thanks in no small part to his running ability.

  • Posted: 1/29/2018 8:56pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) had surgery on his right wrist Friday, Jan. 26, for a condition that had bothered him since December of 2016, according to sources.

Huddle Up: As a first-round pick entering his fifth season, the surgery leaves Bortles in even more limbo, as his fifth-year club option is only guaranteed for injury. Bortles' place on the roster was already tenuous given the likelihood of quarterbacks such as Kirk Cousins and Alex Smith expected to be available and the Jaguars' new status as a place potentially available quarterbacks will want to go. At the moment, it's looking like Bortles may not be on the Jacksonville roster when the middle of March rolls around.

  • Posted: 1/22/2018 2:47pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles said he would be 'thrilled' to remain with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The fourth-year quarterback will be an impending free agent in 2019.

Huddle Up: Bortles did his part in leading the Jaguars to the AFC Championship. His numbers don't jump off the chart, but he made fewer mistakes than in previous years. His running ability makes him an underrated fantasy quarterback.

  • Posted: 1/21/2018 3:33pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles completed 23-of-36 passes for 293 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in the AFC Championship Game against the New England Patriots on Sunday, Jan. 21.

Huddle Up: Bortles and his teammates were outscored 14-3 in the decisive fourth quarter to derail their chances at a first Super Bowl appearance, but it was a great season for the Jags. He finished the regular season with a 60.2 completion percentage, 3,687 yards and 21 touchdowns with 13 interceptions. As such, he'll be in the low-end QB1 fantasy discussion in larger leagues, but he should mostly be a QB2 in most formats.

  • Posted: 1/19/2018 1:31pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 19, and is not on the injury report for the AFC Championship game.

Huddle Up: Bortles had a solid second half of the season and has posted decent numbers in the playoffs but will be facing a good New England Patriots defense in the championship game. He may not be asked to throw much during the game and can be a considered a risky fantasy option for owners.

  • Posted: 1/18/2018 2:01pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) fully participated in practice Thursday, Jan. 18.

Huddle Up: Bortles has posted solid numbers over the last few weeks but may be asked to do more in the AFC Championship game. He will be facing a solid New England Patriots defense and will be a risky fantasy option.

  • Posted: 1/17/2018 1:48pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) participated fully in practice Wednesday, Jan. 17.

Huddle Up: There's a lot on Bortles' shoulders heading into the AFC Championship. He'll need to be mistake-free in order for the Jaguars to upset the New England Patriots. He'll be a borderline QB1, largely thanks to his running ability, going into the 2018 fantasy year.

  • Posted: 1/15/2018 4:40pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles has averaged just 193 passing yards in away games this season while throwing six touchdowns and eight interceptions in those contests.

Huddle Up: Bortles and the Jaguars will be in Massachusetts this weekend in their toughest test of the year against the New England Patriots. The up-and-down quarterback has often been a weak link for the Jaguars, but has done enough to help get them to this point. That being said, he's not a legitimate QB1 candidate for next season but is capable of QB1 weeks.

  • Posted: 1/14/2018 2:49pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles completed 14 of his 26 pass attempts for 214 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in the AFC Divisional Round playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, Jan. 14. He also ran five times for 35 yards.

Huddle Up: It wasn't pretty, although a vast improvement over last weekend, and it doesn't matter. The Jaguars have won two straight playoff games and will head to Foxboro to meet the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game. Bortles might be able to move the ball against a Patriots pass defense which struggled earlier in the season.

  • Posted: 1/12/2018 11:06am ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 12, and is not on the injury report for the Divisional Round playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Huddle Up: Bortles had some solid outings during the second half of the season but is coming off a disappointing Wild Card playoff game. He probably will be able to post better numbers against the Steelers but will not be a strong fantasy option for owners.

  • Posted: 1/11/2018 12:22pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) fully participated in practice Thursday, Jan. 11.

Huddle Up: Bortles is coming off a disappointing Wild Card playoff game and will be facing a solid Pittsburgh Steelers defense for the second time this season. He was not asked to do much in the team's win over the Steelers during the regular season but probably will have to be more productive during the Divisional Round game. Owners in most fantasy leagues should be able to find better options for their lineups.

  • Posted: 1/10/2018 1:47pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) was a full participant in practice Wednesday, Jan. 10.

Huddle Up: Bortles looked like the Bortles of 2014 and 2016 in the Jaguars' wild-card win last week. He'll be in a raucous, hostile atmosphere in a playoff game on the road against a quality Pittsburgh Steelers defense, so don't bet on him making up for last week's dismal output.

  • Posted: 1/7/2018 1:20pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles rushed for 88 yards on 10 carries against the Buffalo Bills in the Wild Card playoff game Sunday, Jan. 7. He also went 12-for-23 for 87 yards and one touchdown during the game.

Huddle Up: Bortles was not able to do much in the passing game but his running helped win the game for the Jaguars. He will be facing the Pittsburgh Steelers next week and will not be a strong fantasy option.

  • Posted: 1/5/2018 12:06pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 5, and is not on the injury report for the Wild Card playoff game.

Huddle Up: Bortles has played well over the last several months and has some value in fantasy leagues. He could be considered a low-end No. 1 fantasy quarterback this week.

  • Posted: 1/4/2018 12:45pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) fully participated in practice Thursday, Jan. 4.

Huddle Up: Bortles has been a solid fantasy option during the second half of the season and should have some success against the Buffalo Bills. He can be considered a low-end No. 1 fantasy quarterback this week.

  • Posted: 1/3/2018 2:19pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Jan. 3.

Huddle Up: Bortles played well during the second half of the season but has thrown five interceptions over the last two games. He should have most of his offensive weapons available for the game and can be a low-end No. 1 fantasy quarterback.

  • Posted: 12/29/2017 6:13pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) was a full participant in practice Friday, Dec. 29, and he has been removed from the Week 17 injury report.

Huddle Up: Bortles is expected to play against the Tennessee Titans, and he has been putting up QB1 numbers recently. However, Jacksonville's playoff seeding already secured, so there is always chance he could be pulled early.

  • Posted: 12/28/2017 2:28pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 29.

Huddle Up: Bortles is expected to play in Week 17 even though the Jaguars are not playing for playoff seeding. He has played very well during the second half of the season and can be a low-end No. 1 fantasy quarterback this week because of the favorable matchup.

  • Posted: 12/27/2017 3:53pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) was able to take part in a full practice session Wednesday, Dec. 27.

Huddle Up: Bortles has appeared on the injury for a majority of the season, but he hasn't missed any game time due to his wrist injury. He'll be fine for Week 17 and the playoffs.

  • Posted: 12/24/2017 8:10pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles completed 32 of his 50 pass attempts for 382 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions in Week 16 against the San Francisco 49ers.

Huddle Up: Bortles saved his best for last. He had just one game with two or more touchdowns passes over his first 11 games, and he had just one 300-yard game during the span. However, he has three 300-yard games with at least two touchdowns strikes in each of the past four outings.

  • Posted: 12/22/2017 12:40pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 22, and is not on the injury report for Week 16.

Huddle Up: Bortles has been a solid fantasy option over the last several weeks and should have a favorable matchup this week. Owners in deeper leagues can consider Bortles as a low-end No. 1 quarterback.
