The Huddle Takes Top Honor in 2004 Fantasy Football Index Experts Poll

They also took on all challengers in the 2004 Fantasy Football Index "Best Ball" Experts league and walked away with the championship.

Lake Tahoe, NV - May 5, 2005:  The Huddle announces it's dominance in 2004. Every year Fantasy Football Index (FFI) magazine brings together the best minds in the fantasy football industry and pits them against each other in it's annual Experts Poll. Well the results are in and The Huddle's co-founder David Dorey won it all. In addition to ranking #1 overall, David also took the #1 spot in two positional rankings, wide receiver and kicker.

The 2004 FFI Experts Poll gathered 25 of the top fantasy football ranking experts from across the country and asked them to provide pre-season top 20 rankings for quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, tight ends and kickers. A scoring system is then applied to the final regular season results compared to the expert's submitted pre-season rankings to determine a point total for each expert. Using this system, the best pre-season player rankings are identified. That person last year was David Dorey of The Huddle. He has also finished in the Experts Poll top six in three of the past four years.

In addition to the Experts Poll, FFI organizes an experts mock draft. Last season they created a fantasy football league based on that pre-season mock draft, calling it the Best Ball League (link to 2004 league). This was a no trade, no waiver league that calculated the maximum possible score each week by adding the stats for the team's best players at each position. Teams played all other teams each week. This format provided the team with the best fantasy football draft to have the best chance at winning it all. When the dust settled it was again The Huddle's own David Dorey that took home the league championship.

David Dorey is the co-founder of The Huddle and has been a contributor to the fantasy football industry for ten years. He's the mastermind behind much of what The Huddle web site publishes, especially it's pre-season player rankings and analysis. So if you subscribe to The Huddle you are basically taking David to your fantasy football draft with you. Based on his dominance of many of the other experts in the industry, that's not a bad thing.
