The 6'5" undrafted rookie wideout looks very likely to make the final roster and with the injuries to Burress, the also tall Mix is being used as a replacement in the preseason. Too early to jump on this bandwagon but he should make the team as an undrafted rookie and that's a major accomplishment in itself.

If preseason play was the only thing that mattered, Jones would be a top five wideout this year. He has looked awesome the past two weeks and had six catches for 80 yards against the Jaguars in the first half. He also lost a fumble and had other problems running routes so he is not "there" yet. But he will definitely figure into the season and is a spark of excitement that Greg Jennings wishes would go away.

The Falcons are playing around with their starting lineups as well which had included moving Michael Jenkins to a slot role in practice and Roddy White has been filling the #2 across from Joe Horn. White has been very impressive in camp but is being pushed a little by rookie Laurent Robinson who is also having a nice preseason. The new coaching staff have no ties to the past and with Vick gone and Crumpler hurt, these wideouts could be quite different from last year when it was mainly Jenkins and sometimes White standing around watching Vick run or throw to Crumpler.

Ton of changes to the wideout depths as this is the time that teams are shuffling their players around and trying to find what works best. The wideouts likely to be all the fantasy starters are not affected since they are not playing that much anyway and have cemented their jobs already but the positional depth and in some cases the slot role is still up for grabs and changing.

Hester is practicing at wideout and looking every bit as good as he did as a punt returner. While most players that switch from defense to wideout like this get little playing time and make no fantasy mark, this time it appears that Hester will have a role on the offense that is only balanced by the need to keep him healthy for the special teams play. It is still a risk and there are only so many passes to be thrown in Chicago though and Muhammad and Berrian will still get the most as the starters. But Hester devalues both Mark Bradley and Rashied Davis.
