are two fantasy points each participant, all touchdowns are six except passing
is four. Kickers receive the NFL points from their kicks and defenses have one
point sacks and turnovers, two point safeties and six point touchdowns.

Evaluating teams in a league of ten means looking for playmakers at as many positions as possible and even more so for the highest scoring ones which would be running backs and quarterbacks in this scoring format. In an 8 team league where there is always something to get on the waiver wire, having studs at as many positions as possible is critical. Anyone can have an average team and anyone can have decent players. Gotta get those stars.

Team #1
Started: RB, RB, WR, QB, WR
Starters: Palmer, Tomlinson, Benson, Watson, Chad Johnson, Boldin, Gostkowski, BAL
Went the standard route of joining Tomlinson with the best available RB of Benson and then picking up Chad Johnson for an impact WR. Adding Palmer with the 4.08 a huge coup here to give him a top player for RB, WR and QB.
Added BAL defense for an advantage but waited for ultraweak TE in Watson. Plenty of RB depth here and WR's are not deep but very strong and the position is the deepest in free agency anyway. Overall, strong team with 4 top stars in their position. About the only shortfall here is getting better upside on the RB depth.

Team #2
Started: RB, RB, WR, WR, QB
Starters: Brady, S Jackson, Jones-Drew, Cooley, S Smith, A Johnson, Graham, SD
Plan Grade: Like team #1, went with Jackson to start and then added Jones-Drew which is good but a shame to have an RB2 in a sharing situation for an 8 team league. Added Steve Smith for a top WR and still reach Andre Johnson in the 4th. Finding Brady at the 5.02 will great help this team.
Also ended up with a top RB, WR and QB but the RB depth seems spotty for a small league like this. Nice picks for WR will maintain that position but outside those three players the team looks pretty average for a 8 team league. Jackson, Brady and Steve Smith will carry this team and maybe can. But lose any of the three and this team turns average.

Team #3
Started: RB, RB, RB, TE, RB
Starters: Must have been scared taking Larry Johnson because three of the next four picks went RB even though only 2 RBs can start. In such a small league, it can be pretty enticing to see RB depth in the 3rd to 5th rounds. Added Gates at the 4.06 for an advantage.
Went with CHI defense which was prudent but Rivers is no advantage in this format and waiting until the 8th round to even start WR means a big liability there. This team looks like a classic "look at all the RB's!" team. Great strength in RB that could end up as trade bait but only Gates is a known star. Likely only average unless upgrades by trading RBs and in an 8 team league, trading is less likely since there is so much depth around.

Started: RB, RB, RB, WR, WR
Starters: Kitna, Gore, R Brown, V Davis, R Williams, R Moss, Vinatieri, CAR
Obviously strong start with RBs in Gore, Brown and McGahee but waited until the 4.05 to start WR. Was fortunate enough to get Williams and Moss but both have upside and Evans at the 6.05 rounds out the position with quality.
Kitna at the 7.04 another nice upside pick as was Vernon Davis for TE. Overall, probably does not have a top 3 player but has upside in each position so the team could develop during the season.

Team #5
Started: RB, RB, RB, WR, QB
Starters: Brees, Addai, Maroney, Heap, Fitzgerald, Colston, Kaeding, MIA
This plan just followed runs but went for higher upside players. Sewed up RBs by starting with Addai, Maroney and Thomas Jones before opting for WR1 of Fitzgerald. Not bad for an 8 team league but not an obvious contender either.
Adding Brees yields an advantage at QB and Heap should be solid enough at TE. Solid picks through out but nothing eye popping. Likely no top 3 player in any position by just following all the runs.

Team #6
Started: RB, RB, RB, WR, WR
Starters: Like team #5, went for the three RBs in Alexander, Parker and Lynch before getting starting WR of Holt and Houshmandzadeh. Not exactly big star power at any position but solid enough to be average.
Added Bulger in the 6th round and went for a couple of very nice upside picks in Adrian Peterson and Calvin Johnson. Overall, has more exciting depth than starters and each position appears to be just average in this smaller league. May not have a top 4 player in any position so this team ends up below average in a small league such as this.

Team #7
Started: RB, RB, WR, WR, TE
Starters: McNabb, Westbrook, Henry, Gonzalez, Harrison, Wayne, Gould, DEN
Started out with Westbrook and Henry for solid but nothing more than average RBs but at least went WR with the 4 and 5 picks to lock up the IND passing game which is really nice. Gonzo gives a small advantage at TE.
McNabb at the 7.07 a sweet pick and has decent depth in all positions other than WR. Owning both Gonzo and Winslow seems more like a trade ploy but in a small league no one wants to spend much to get a TE even if he is a good one. Problem with owning both IND WR is that most games will only have one with a big game and while McNabb could be golden, he could also get injured yet again. Looks average and only followed runs. Stocked at TE does not mean much in a small league.

Team #8
Started: RB, QB, WR, RB, RB
Starters: P Manning, R Johnson, James, Shockey, Owens, Walker, Shockey, Rackers, JAX
Went for safe with Rudi Johnson but the Manning pick makes much more sense in this small league. Followed that up with impact WR of Owens before grabbing James as RB2. Taking Cadillac at the 5.08 probably could have waited until the next swing to get impact players in other positions.
Overall has some nice depth and a star with Manning but will need some players to exceed expectations before being able to compete with the better teams. First three picks were on a track to get stars but nothing else really was.
