Player Change Now Date
NY Jets TEs NA 08-07-08
The addition of Favre can only help the tight ends but expecting miracles is unrealistic. Keller and Baker get minor upgrades.
Player Change Now Date
Cardinals Tight Ends NA 08-03-08
Leonard Pope is still slow to get back from his ankle injury of last year and Ben Patrick has been taking first team snaps. This doesn't make Patrick that attractive but it does send Pope down in the rankings.
Player Change Now Date
Vernon Davis 14 08-01-08
Small adjustment upwards for Davis who has been of particular interest and focus by OC Mike Martz. That system has never used a tight end and Davis has been a relaitve bust with durability problems since joining the league but this could be his best opportunity. He's too risky to be a starting TE but would make a great back-up tight end from his potential.
Player Change Now Date
Jeremy Shockey 7 07-22-08
The trade to the Saints should result in bigger numbers for Shockey who goes to a team that has never used a tight end much but has wanted to involve the position more. Trading Eli Manning for Drew Brees won't hurt Shockey at all as well plus the passing is a lot easier in a dome than outside in NY in the winter.
Player Change Now Date
Kevin Boss 16 07-2-08
With Shockey gone to the Saints, Boss is handed back the starting job and deserves a healthy bump up in the rankings. He's not yet worthy of being a fantasy starter but plays in an offense that loves to throw to the tight end position.
