Prediction: SEA 27 , WAS 20 (Line: SEA by 7.5)

UPDATE: Niles Paul may finish all tests for his concussion and play on Monday night but his status won’t be made until Saturday and even then a “questionable” would mean he is a risky start. Jordan Reed is limited in practices and doesn’t appear likely to play yet.

The 2-1 Seahawks try to win their first road game of the year after getting surprised down in San Diego. The 1-3 Redskins are on a two game losing slide but are 1-1 at home. The Seahawks are rested and coming off their be. This is the Monday night game.

It was going so well until the Chargers loss but at least that was out of conference. The upcoming schedule looks easier every time you see it though the final six weeks are what will make or break this season. No one questions the Seahawks at home but the road version looks like a step down. The Seahawks cannot force the NFC to go through Seattle without picking up most of their away games.

QUARTERBACK : Russell Wilson remains highly consistent with exactly two passing scores in every game and around 200 yards in most. He’s playing the game manager role perfectly only he likes to add the occasional long completion and extra touchdowns from what is considered average.

RUNNING BACK : Here is a nice chance for Marshawn Lynch to break his trend of turning in 120 total yards and at least one score at home but then about half that much yardage whenever he leaves Seattle. Lynch did score on a catch in the last two games as well and has been rock solid every week with scores.

WIDE RECEIVER : Of the six touchdowns that were thrown by Russell Wilson, four went to running backs. The other two ended up with wideouts but in both cases ended up with Ricardo Lockette who only has three receptions on the entire year. Percy Harvin ran in a score in San Diego but has been very marginal otherwise with never more than 59 yards in a game. Doug Baldwin was the consistent one last year but so far has only a total of ten catches for 105 yards over three games. The lower passing stats so far mean no fantasy value here.

TIGHT END : No fantasy value. Zach Miller is out with ankle surgery anyway. Luke Wilson will take his place this week.

MATCH TO THE DEFENSE: The interesting part of this will be the Seahawks weakness being the weakness of the Skins and the same with strengths. The Redskins have only allowed one rushing touchdown by a running back this year and marginal yardage. But the Skins secondary has been shredded in recent weeks and Wilson will do whatever it takes to win. Lynch is still a start but more likely only moderate yardage but Wilson is more attractive in one of his better matchups that should prompt him to throw more. The Skins are really weak against the tight end as we saw last week with Larry Donnell scoring three times. But Luke Wilson is too risky to rely on. This should be a good chance for a non-Lockette wideout to score. Richard Sherman should take care of Jackson this week.

WAS vs SEA Rush Catch Pass
QB Kirk Cousins 260,2
RB Pierre Thomas 30 3-20
WR Pierre Garcon 7-80,1
WR DeSean Jackson 3-40
WR Andre Roberts 4-40
TE Vernon Davis
TE Logan Paulsen 5-60,1

Last week was one of those bad games that just start poorly and never improve. The biggest damage it did was causing Kirk Cousins to throw for four interceptions after he was so impressive in Philly the previous week. The Skins are hitting the tougher part of their schedule now and facing the defenses from Seattle and Arizona are not going to make this offense work any better.

QUARTERBACK : After posting 427 yards and three scores in Philadelphia, Kirk Cousins was held to just 257 yards and one score with four interceptions at home against the Giants. He still scores in every game and history says that was much more exception than rule. But facing the Seahawks is not likely to boost the stats this week.

RUNNING BACK : Alfred Morris chugs along with around 70 or 80 yards per week and at least one score in every home game. But he rarely catches any passes and still has yet to top 100 yards his season. Roy Helu offers the third down role with receptions and a few carries and he once this year while at Philly. Morris is a heavy-use back to rarely shares but the Skins have not been allowed to run as much as desired this season.

WIDE RECEIVER : He finally showed up with 11 catches for 138 yards and a touchdown in Philadelphia but then Pierre Garcon disappeared again with just two receptions for 28 yards last week. Cousins typically connects well with Garcon. Desean Jackson had the same situation coming off 5-117-1 and then settling for a singe catch for nine yards. The beat down that the Skins had was thorough and nothing was going to work last week. But facing the Seahawks is not going to make this unit look that much better.

TIGHT END : Jordan Reed remains out with a bad hamstring and now Niles Paul is in the concussion program trying to pass tests. At this point, it seems neither Reed nor Paul is likely to play and that Logan Paul with take the lead. He came in against the Giants and had a season-best three catches for 28 yards.

MATCH TO THE DEFENSE: The Seahawks have been great against the regardless of venue with no rusher gaining more than 38 yards. Expect a down day for Morris whose lack of receptions kill him in games such as these. The Seahawks have been only average against the pass but that was against Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning and Philip Rivers. Five of the six passing scores allowed by the Seahawks went to tight ends but Logan Paul. Expect depressed stats from all of the Se hawks.
