I was right about the overlay at DK last week thanks to the price increase in the MM. Unfortunately I couldn’t dominate it as much as I would have had the previous week. I put all the blame at the feet of Mike Tomlin, who led his Steelers to a total fail in every aspect of the game against the Y-E-T-S. It also didn’t help that Ronnie Hillman got hurt early and that Jeremy Maclin was ignored in lieu of Jordan Matthews. I did get some garbage time love from Kelvin Benjamin and Martavis Bryant so thanks go out to them even though both of them watched their QBs struggle most of the rest of the day.
The biggest storyline of last week was the number of blowouts. Most of them were expected and we should have been able to capitalize on it from a DFS standpoint. It is always a great idea to roll out stack plays when you are expecting a big score from your team. The potential big score stack options I’m attacking this week are: Eagles/Packers and Colts/Patriots. Also Denver versus St. Louis and Pittsburgh versus Tennessee offer one-sided action from a potential blowout standpoint.
DraftKings brings back the $27/MM this week and as of Thursday morning they were still only at 16%. The 100K guarantee at only $2/entry is at an even less believable 1.4%. These stats will rise as we get closer to kickoff Sunday but for the time being it looks like another sizeable overlay for us to try and take advantage of.
For a general strategy it looks like I’m gonna take a top four QB, two third tier RBs, two second tier WRs, one third tier WR, and a Colts’ TE.
