This is a table which shows how much of an advantage or disadvantage it was for a player in one of the listed positions to face a particular defense either at home or away (it does matter). This data is related solely to what defenses were allowing opponents either more or less than other defenses that faced a specific offense. So while a defense may have allowed a big game to say DeMarco Murray, that defense was compared to all other defenses that played the Cowboys in that home or away venue. In 2014, the best a quarterback could get was to play in Philadelphia. The worst a running back could face wasin New York against the Jets.
The values are created by determining the midpoint of what defenses allowed and then assigning that as zero with defenses either worse or better than that.
This is a more refined manner of analyzing what happened the previous season and it goes even deeper since it only considers the top two running backs and top three receivers of their opponents, not the entire cast of either position. That relates better to fantasy football since only the best players from each team are likely to be a fantasy starter.
