Atlanta Falcons 34 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 20
The wait for Julio Jones’ monster fantasy game has come to an end. Jones caught 12 of 15 targets for 253 yards and two touchdowns. He entered the game with only one touchdown. It’s Jones’ third game with more than 250 yards receiving in his career. No other receiver in NFL history has more than one.
Extra Points: Tevin Coleman started his second straight game in place of Davonta Freeman (concussion). Coleman rushed for 97 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries (5.1 YPC). He has four touchdowns in his last three games…Mohamed Sanu was overshadowed by Jones but still caught 8 of 9 targets for 64 yards…The Buccaneers couldn’t get their running game going on Sunday but backup Peyton Barber scored two short touchdowns after Doug Martin left with a concussion…DeSean Jackson (8/60) led the Buccaneers with eight receptions, while Mike Evans (6/78) led the team with 78 receiving yards.
Cincinnati Bengals 30 Cleveland Browns 16
It took Joe Mixon three months but he finally recorded his first 100-yard game. Mixon ran for 114 yards and a score on 23 carries (5.0 YPC). He also caught three passes for 51 yards in his best fantasy outing of the year. Mixon has 43 carries in his last two games.
Extra Points: Andy Dalton had a good matchup on paper and delivered with a solid fantasy performance. Dalton threw for 214 yards and two touchdowns. He’s thrown seven touchdown passes and no interceptions in his last three games…A.J. Green led the Bengals in targets (8), receptions (5) and receiving yards (66)…As usual, there weren’t many fantasy stars on the 0-11 Browns. Isaiah Cowell rushed for 95 yards on 16 carries (5.9 YPC), while Corey Coleman caught three passes for 64 yards.
Tennessee Titans 20 Indianapolis Colts 16
This wasn’t the most fantasy friendly game of the season. Both quarterbacks threw for under 200 yards and neither team reached 100 yards rushing. Marcus Mariota threw for 184 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions, while Jacoby Brissett finished with for 196 yards and no touchdowns.
Extra Points: The one bright spot for fantasy owners in this matchup was the tight ends. Jack Doyle caught 7 pf 8 targets for 94 yards. Delanie Walker caught three passes for 63 yards and a touchdown…The Corey Davis hype will have to wait for 2018. Davis caught four balls for just 39 yards. Davis has seven catches for 66 yards in his last two games…The Titans defense dominated a Colts offense that allows the most fantasy points to team defenses. Tennessee finished with eight sacks and a fumble recovery.
Buffalo Bills 16 Kansas City Chiefs 10
A couple of months ago, Alex Smith was being talked about as a potential MVP candidate. Now he’s hoping to keep his starting job for one more week. Smith completed 23 of 36 passes for 199 yards, one touchdown and an interception.
Extra Points: Speaking of getting benched, Tyrod Taylor started after his one-week demotion. Taylor didn’t do anything special. He completed 19 of 29 passes for 183 yards and a touchdown. However, at least Taylor didn’t throw five interceptions…Zay Jones was targeted a team-high 10 times. He finished with three receptions for 33 yards and a touchdown…Kareem Hunt owners have officially hit the panic button. Hunt was held to just 17 yards on 11 carries (1.5 YPC). He has zero rushing touchdowns since Week 3.
New England Patriots 35 Miami Dolphins 17
Tom Brady keeps rolling as fantasy playoffs near. Brady threw for 227 yards, four touchdowns and an interception on Sunday. He has 10 touchdown passes and one interception over his last three games.
Extra Points: Two of Brady’s touchdowns went to tight end Rob Gronkowski (5/82). Another one went to Brandin Cooks (6/83). Cooks has scored in each of his last two games…Dion Lewis continues to get the job done on the ground. Lewis ran the ball 15 times for 112 yards (7.5 YPC)…The Patriots defense stymied the Dolphins offense all day, sacking Matt Moore seven times and picking him off twice. Jarvis Landry was able to haul in eight passes for 70 yards but he was held out of the end zone…Kenyan Drake dominated touches after Damien Williams left with a shoulder injury. Drake gained 65 total yards and caught a touchdown pass.
Carolina Panthers 35 New York Jets 27
In one of the only entertaining games of Week 12, Josh McCown threw for 307 yards and three scores in a losing effort. Cam Newton only threw for 168 yards with no touchdowns but he did score on a short run to help his owners out.
Extra Points: Devin Funchess hauled in 108 of Newton’s 168 yards through the air. Funchess finished with seven receptions and a touchdown…The Panthers offense didn’t need to do a lot on Sunday thanks to their defense/special teams. Carolina’s defense recorded three sacks and scored twice…Robby Anderson had another big day for his owners. Anderson caught six passes for 146 yards and two touchdowns. He’s scored a touchdown in five straight games. Jermaine Kearse (7/105/1) also went over 100 yards and caught a touchdown.
Philadelphia Eagles 31 Chicago Bears 3
The beat goes on for Carson Wentz and the Eagles. Wentz threw for 227 yards and three more touchdowns on Sunday. He also added 29 yards on the ground. Wentz ends the fantasy season with road games against the Seahawks, Rams and Giants and a home tilt with the Raiders.
Extra Points: Wentz distributed his touchdowns to three different receivers. Zach Ertz (10/103), Alshon Jeffery (5/52) and Nelson Agholor (3/32) all caught a touchdown…LeGarrette Blount led the Eagles backfield for the second straight week. Blount ran for 97 yards on 15 carries (6.5 YPC)…The Bears offense was smothered by the Eagles defense. Jordan Howard rushed for only six yards on seven carries. Philadelphia’s defense recorded two sacks, two interceptions and held the Bears to 140 total yards.
Seattle Seahawks 24 San Francisco 49ers 13
The Seahawks offense didn’t have to do much against the struggling 49ers on Sunday. Russell Wilson threw for a workmanlike 228 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.
Extra Points: Doug Baldwin was held to just two catches for 25 yards. Baldwin has just four receptions for 65 yards on nine targets in his last two games…Jimmy Graham only caught three balls on the day but one went for his eighth touchdown of the season…The 49ers offense couldn’t get much going with C.J. Beathard at quarterback. Beathard got hurt late in the game and was replaced by Jimmy Garoppolo. Garoppolo gave 49ers fans some hope for the future with a touchdown pass on the final play of the game to Louis Murphy. There’s a good chance Garoppolo gets his first start for the 49ers in Week 13.
Oakland Raiders 21 Denver Broncos 14
It’s time to stop benching quarterbacks against the Broncos defense. Derek Carr threw for 256 yards and two touchdowns. The Broncos have now given up 12 touchdown passes in their last four games.
Extra Points: It was a tough day if you own Michael Crabtree or Amari Cooper. Crabtree was ejected early on for fighting and Cooper was knocked out with a concussion. The one bright spot is Cooper’s lone reception went for a touchdown…Marshawn Lynch ran for only 67 yards on 26 carries (2.6 YPC) but he did manage to score a short touchdown…Trevor Siemian replaced an injured Paxton Lynch and threw too late touchdown passes. However, the touchdowns were little help to fantasy owners because they went to Cody Latimer and Benny Fowler. Meanwhile, Demaryius Thomas (5/18) and Emmanuel Sanders (3/12 were held to a combined eight receptions for 30 yards.
Los Angeles Rams 26 New Orleans Saints 20
Jared Goff stayed hot by taking advantage of a depleted Saints secondary. Goff threw for 354 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Goff has topped 300 yards in three of his last four games.
Extra Points: Cooper Kupp and Sammy Watkins stepped up with Robert Woods out injured. Kupp caught 8 of 11 targets for 116 yards, while Watkins added four receptions for 82 yards and a touchdown…Alvin Kamara continues to be a fantasy stud as both a runner and receiver. Kamara rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown on just five carries (17.4 YPC). He also caught six balls for 101 yards and a touchdown…Drew Brees (246 yards) helped save his fantasy day with a late touchdown but Brees has now thrown for fewer than 250 yards in two of his last three games.
Arizona Cardinals 27 Jacksonville Jaguars 24
It’s amazing but a game that saw 51 points scored produced very few fantasy stars. Rookie tight end Rickey Seals-Jones proved last week’s breakout performance wasn’t a fluke. Seals-Jones caught four passes for 72 yards and a touchdown. He has seven receptions for 126 yards and three touchdowns in his last two games.
Extra Points: Leonard Fournette was shut down by the Cardinals defense. Fournette finished with a season-low 25 yards on 12 carries…Blake Bortles threw for only 160 yards and an interception but he added two rushing touchdowns…The Cardinals are down to their third quarterback but Blaine Gabbert played well against the No. 1 rated Jaguars pass defense. Gabbert threw for 241 yards with two touchdowns and an interception…Adrian Peterson was held to 79 yards on 20 carries (4.0 YPC). Peterson hasn’t scored a touchdown since his first game with the Cardinals.
Pittsburgh Steelers 31 Green Bay Packers 28
In a surprisingly wild and entertaining game, Ben Roethlisberger out-gunned Brett Hundley. Hundley had his best game of the season throwing for 245 yards and three touchdowns. Roethlisberger was even better. He finished with 351 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions. Big Ben has thrown for 650 yards and eight touchdowns in his last two games.
Extra Points: Antonio Brown had a huge game with JuJu Smith-Schuster inactive. Brown caught 10 of 12 targets for 169 yards and two touchdowns…Le’Veon Bell made a big impact as both a runner and receiver. Bell finished with 95 yards rushing and caught a team-high 12 passes for 88 yards…Davante Adams continues to be Hundley’s favorite receiver. Adams scored and led the Packers in targets (9), receptions (5) and yards (82)…Jamaal Williams had by far his best game as a pro. He rushed for 66 yards and a touchdown, while also catching four balls for 69 yards and a score.
